The dash pad just above shows no cracking. This Chevy classic left the factory with air conditioning installed and all components are in place - the system blows with conviction but not particularly cold, so a coolant recharge will likely be needed to have it functioning in top form. A 350 cubic inch L82 V8 armed with a 4-barrel carb sits under the hood in an engine compartment whose very clean look belies its age, still in its original configuration, down to the properly painted air cleaner and induction system extending forward. The L82 was revered by auto reviewers for its strong performance when it debuted and this example, the original powerplant, acquits itself very well, starting up promptly and running smoothly to provide all the road-readiness you could want. Just behind it sits a 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts with slip-free precision. Smooth power steering combines with the Corvette's low, road-hugging stance to provide strong handling, while power brakes at all four corners bring this relatively lightweight car to a stop very quickly.
