1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Description

The Caprice was one of the most popular cars of all time for some very good reasons. It was the car of choice for lots of people who wanted a full-sized luxury car, but with the sensible value of a Chevrolet. This two-door convertible is a fine example of that luxury with the added fun of top down cruising. These cars can still be seen on the road today fairly frequently. So many of us grew up with... them, or drove them, and this one might bring back some memories. It is a Medium Blue (Baby Blue? Sky Blue?) two-door convertible with a white roof which by today's standards looks really big. And it is. It is one of the largest Chevrolets ever built before they started downsizing everything and it is the last Caprice convertible ever built. Up front there is a rectangular grill flanked by four headlights with a sharp looking chrome bumper. The view from the side of the car is of long clean lines that kick up a bit at the rear fender and are interrupted by only one door. Rear wheel spats enhance the effect and when the roof is down the car just looks like it belongs in a parade. A White vinyl interior looks absolutely fantastic with the Blue. Of-course as a full-sized car there is lots of room for your friends to join you for a ride around town or a ride to the beach. So load up and head out for some fun! The door panel has a pleated vinyl upper and a plastic lower section with power window and lock switches at your fingertips. There is a two spoke steering wheel with a wood tone inset mounted on a tilt column along with the shifter for the automatic transmission. The dash is simple and logical with a horizontally arranged speedometer flanked by a gas gauge and a clock. Ventilation controls are down on the left and include those for the air conditioning system. An AM/FM radio sits off to the right just under the power switch for the convertible roof. There is a sharp looking white boot to cover the roof when it is down so that the King and Queen of the parade can sit back there comfortably. Under that substantial hood is a tried and true 350 cubic inch engine that makes plenty of power to pull this car around in style. It is completely stock with a black air filter and even the flexible hose that brings fresh air in from the very front of the car is in good shape. The valve covers and the engine block are both painted Chevy Orange and there has been lots of good maintenance done with newer parts evident like the master cylinder, alternator, belts hoses and air conditioning lines and battery. There is power steering and power front disc brakes. The power the engine makes is sent back through an equally tried and true 3-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. The car sits on steel wheels with polished hub caps and the rubber meets the road through 225/75R15 white wall tires. Come on down and see what a full-sized luxury convertible is like to drive. You may decide to drive it on home.
