1985 Chevrolet C-10 Silverado Description

Sometimes you just want a nice old truck. Not a beater, not someone else's old work truck, but something you can wash on the weekends without feeling like you're wasting your time, a truck that gets nods of approval in the parking lot, a truck that looks and runs great that doesn't cost a fortune. Case in point? This very clean 1985 Chevrolet C10 pickup. Finished in bright red, the regular cab/short bed style is the one... to own if you're not using it to move building materials. Trim, relatively athletic with the small block V8 under the hood, and arguably the most handsome of the bunch, this C10 is incredibly well preserved for being more than three decades old. There's absolutely no rust or rot, no signs of body work or previous accident damage, and even the bed is in good order with a spray-in bedliner that hides nothing. It's an older repaint that's still in good shape, and a little TLC in a few areas would really take it up a notch. Overall this is a truck with no real cosmetic needs you could enjoy it as-is. The chrome and stainless are still bright, the glass is clear, and the accessory bed rails add a sporty look and a lot of functionality. The interior is in good order, too, with dark red cloth on the bench seat and an ocean of matching red carpet underfoot. In contrast to some of the more basic trucks, the carpet adds a level of luxury that is sorely missing when all you get is a rubber mat and you can feel it the moment you climb aboard. There are also options like A/C, a tilt wheel, cruise control, as well as power windows and locks, so it's obvious that someone had plans for this truck that didn't involve dirty boots and hard work. The dash and gauges are all original, and even the original AM/FM radio is still tucked in there by the driver. This is a very impressive interior that has clearly been well-maintained and had a reasonable pile of money spent on it recently. The great thing about old trucks is that the come with V8 engines; in this truck's case, it's still running its original 305 cubic inch V8. Looking completely stock, it runs well, delivering smooth power and torque without a hiccup. Most of the original components were retained, including the air cleaner, accessories, and even the original stamped steel valve covers and air snorkel are still intact. All the original wiring remains in excellent condition, and new belts, hoses, plugs, wires, and other components were replaced just recently to ensure that it's running its best. The most notable modification is the removal of the catalytic converter, which certainly frees up some horsepower. The TH350 3-speed automatic transmission still offers crisp shifts and it sits on Rally wheels with trim rings and fat white letter radials. Take this truck just about anywhere and you will undoubtedly hear, "Nice truck," and get an approving nod. These were handsome machines when new and today are gaining respect as collector's items.
