1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Description

ORIGINAL, documented 1969 Camaro SS. All numbers matching, comes with protecto plate and original bill of sale. This car was bought on July 21, 1969 in Kingston, Ontario. I purchased it from the original owner years ago. Here is what I know from the original owner....he ordered the car with wire wheels and rear mounted antenna as well as the SS package. He drove the car up till about 1982. During that time, he had the car repainted including new rear quarters and stated the doors were rusty at the bottom but they were patched at the time. The fuel pump failed so the car was pushed into his garage and remained there for 17 years. As he was selling the house, he gave the car to his son who worked with me but the son had no interest in the car so I bought it. The car came with the original bill of sale, protecto plate, some service invoices and was original down to the wing nut on the breather cover.Car was flat bedded to my house where the restoration began. Car was stripped and the body sent to a professional body shop for examination. The trunk pan was rusty as was the left rear frame rail. The doors had filler at the bottom from being patched years before. The rest was solid. The car received a new full trunk pan from back seat to rear panel and the new frame rail.....and I managed to source a set of doors, original G, from someone in NY who had them in his basement. Not cheap but NO, not aftermarket. The roof was nice so it was not replaced at that time. The car received a fresh coat of Hugger Orange paint using base /clear. All emblems, handles and a new interior was also installed. The engine ran with a new fuel pump but was tired so was sent to Cancusi performance for a rebuild. Only NOS parts were used to refresh the engine to original specs. No performance parts were installed, only stock NOS parts. Engine purrs like a kitten. An aluminum rad, chrome brake booster and alternator were installed as well as headers. The automatic was replaced with a Muncie 4 speed and associated components including pedals. Console gauges were also added. Period correct rally wheels were also installed.PLEASE NOTE: All parts removed were retained including the steel wheels with wire hubcaps, transmission, shifter, radiator, alternator, exhaust manifolds...etc and will be included with the car. This car can be easily restored to 100% original if the buyer wishes using all date correct parts. This car runs perfectly, is fun to drive and needs nothing. The paint is a 8.5 out of 10 in my opinion but was never buffed. It looks great as it is. All lights and gauges work as they should. All the glass is good and in working order.Mechanically, this car is perfect. Runs great and drives great. The bad.... there is some minor bumps showing at the rear side of vinyl roof which indicated some rust is likely starting there. There is chrome peeling from the rear bumper near the bolt on left side. I do have a spare bumper which I will include with the sale but it too should be rechromed if you choose to use it. The front spoiler is cracked....cheap to replace. The original radio is there but is not wired. It did work but an aftermarket deck was installed in the glove box. I will remove it before car goes. Rear speakers on the back shelf are dry rotted. Tires are fine, hold air and I drive on them but they are getting old. Thread is good.I was only allowed to upload 24 pictures but can send more if you need them. I am representing this car as honestly as possible and have nothing to hide. Car has only travelled 2500 miles since its restoration years ago which is why I am selling. Someone needs to enjoy this car and not leave it in the garage collecting dust as I have for the last quite a few years. I do start it and drive it a mile a so now and again......This is a fully documented, rare, original example of a 1969 Camaro. These are getting hard to find in their original unmolested condition. This is a 2 owner car which was cared for.
Please do not bid on this car unless you plan to follow through with the purchase. Do not bid if you have less than 10 feedbacks unless you contact me first. I can be reached at 613 858 6927.Deposit must be received per terms of auction.Car has a clear title in my name. It is located in Ottawa Ontario Canada but I can drive it across the border to Ogdensburg N, 13669 and meet the buyer or carrier to facilitate things.Again, ask questions before bidding.

Forgot to mention that the odometer was reset to 000000 when car was restored. As a result, the numbers are slightly crooked which happens when the odometer is altered. Mileage is what car has since restoration which is still very legible but not straight.

If you wish pictures of the undercarriage, please allow 48 hours as I do not have a hoist at home and will need to book a time with a service Garage which is no problem. Car has not been driven much since restoration and is kept in a heated garage so no issues in that area.To answer a common question....door, hood and trunk close perfectly and gaps are real nice.
Also, I reserve the right to end this auction anytime as the car is listed locally and level of inquiries is high even though it does say to refer to this auction to make an offer....As stated in the auction, the car has no rust issues other than those few spots under the vinyl roof. This is a rar, documented version which will require very little to be completely original.
