Up For Sale my 1959 Chevrolet Viking 40. Rare one of a kind truck. 4 wheel drive.This truck has been custom hand built from a bare frame. The frame was stripped and fully boxed, then converted to 4x4. The truck has a very rare Dana 80 reart axlewith 5.13 gears, a Detroit locker and custom differential cover and disc brakes.
The Engine is a 12 valve p-pump Cummins Turbo Diesel that has been fully rebuilt from scratch with a bench tuned pump, industrial injection turbo, 90HP over injectors and custom intake.
Transmission is a 6 speed Allison 1000 transmission of of a low mileage LBZ Chevrolet, it is connected to a fully rebuilt, resealed, divorced NP205 bullet-proof transfer case. All new custom fixed yoke drive shafts were used. The core support was torn down and fabricated to have the large aluminum 4 row radiator and intercooler.
The truck is held up by Chevrolet 6 in. leafsprings with fox 2.0 x 12 in. remote reservoir shocks and it rides like a new truck. To help push the 43 inch tires we added a full PSC hydro assist steering kit so you can turn the steering wheel with one finger.
The truck also has a full 4 inch custom stainless exhaust all the way to the back of the bed. The bench seat in the cab was fully reupholstered in leather and the floor and firewall were insulated and carpeted. The gauges are Dakota digital and autometer along with a full American auto wire classic update wiring harness. Behind the cab is fully hand fabricated flatbed that has over 100 hours put into it. The paint is a beautiful red in very good condition with pin striping accents. Underneath the truck are custom machined Alcoa 22.5, 10 lug wheels wrapped 43 inch firestone mud tires.
This truck is one of a kind. No expense was spared, with great attention to detail, this is a 60 year old vehicle that drives like a modern Diesel Truck.
