1964 Chevrolet Impala ss Description

1964 impala ss convertibleUp for sal, is a rare optione, a red on red superspor, 4 spee, 40, 425hp numbers matchingconvertible! Runs grea, it sat for many years andneeded alot of attention to get her running goodagain . The motor is a tigh, good running motor withgreat oil pressure. Has the correct carb, bracketsand pulley, it has hooker headers on it at themomen, but included in the sales is the correct niceexhaust manifolds. It doesn't leak and didn't feel likepulling them off and putting new exhaust on it . Carbshave been rebuil, valves been adjusted, new point, new clutch disk and throw out bearing . Transmissionshifts and works nice . No noises. Rebuilt alternator .All electrical work, even the clock ! Power top worksnic, and no tears .Factory red on re, tilt steering, power steerin, power brakes ( which Is a rare option on this ) .Doesnt have power windows or seats . Niceinterio, speedometer works . The tach worksbut probably needs rebuilt as it reads higher thanit's running at times .The gear ratio is a 3.70 and is a positraction unit(has the cast iron "p" casting) . All brakes are in greatshape and new brake cylinder, front new wheelbearings and seals .The car had a older restoration probably in the early90s and if a person bought it for a collector car I'd sayit needs to be redone . The trunk is solid but can tellit has had floorpans replaced . The doors are soli, as the front fenders are solid also . As it is right nowit is a beautiful looking car and a great driver . Looksgreat but not a something that you'd be a nervousNelly to drive on a daily basis . The trim and chromeis very nice and straight. It's a very rare optioned car and everything is there .It's a numbers matching 425 hp 40, I didn'twant to detail the motor to keep its authenticity. Ihave a remanufactured gear reduction starterfrom a 95 Chevrolet and works grea, I do havethe original starter .It's a great driver and has alot of potential for anyonewho wants to do a frame off restoration. It's one ofthe few cars that a person can get their money backout of if restored . Seen very similar optioned 409 ssconvertibles push past 100k .It's a head turner wherever I go and a pleasure todrive, I was surprised a solid lifter motor would be sostreatable. Clean title in my name. On the Hagerty scale id rank this a #3 or good #4buyer resposible for shipping will help load .Please PM me for any questions. Thank you!
