1968 Chevy Impala Custom Coupe
1 owner 1968-2013 Documented 51,000 Original Miles (When purchased April 2013)
I purchased this Impala Custom Coupe at Spring Carlisle 2013 and it currently has 53,600 miles. It features loads of documentation, Protecto Plate, a 307 w/Powerglide, power steering, manual drum brakes ( shoes are like new), tinted glass, windshield washer, Factory AM/FM pushbutton radio ( originally came with AM radio, included, I installed the AM FM and re-coned the speaker) and it's original vinyl top. The car appears to feature most of its original Butternut Yellow lacquer paint, "checking" developing on trunk lid but still glossy. After removed from 16 year "barn find" storage in 2012, it was buffed & polished. The original owner obviously appreciated the value in keeping a car as original as possible. He was a classic car collector with 9 vintage Cadillac's, eventually the Impala was placed in storage from 1997 until the sale of his estate in 2013. This is a solid, low mileage survivor, never undercoated so it shows storage patina on the floors, trunk, lower inner doors and undercarriage. Lower fenders, rockers, lower door seams, all solid, although the lower rear quarters were obviously done before I got it. It's not perfect but since it's low on the body presentable in a pale color like Butternut Yellow. Refrigerator magnets stick to the lower quarters so that's a good sign. It drives like a totally different car on it's new radial redline tires. Original trunk mat & spare in trunk. The grill and front end chrome trim is almost like new condition. I've enjoyed this 50 year old honey for 5 years. Price Guide and Old Cars Report has this model trending up over the past 2 years. To those that appreciate history and how difficult it is to find one owner examples such as these, you understand the value in finding one of these survivors. It's not a muscle car but since 2013 it's never failed me weather to car show or cruises and always puts a smile on peoples faces when the see it! If you're looking for a reliable cruiser, this is it. The car currently sports it's original 14" wheels & BF Goodrich Silvertown red line radials with rare, original Chevy simulated mag hub caps. The only thing it needs is a sending unit since the gas gauge doesn't function, the indicator is buried at FULL but with a 25 gallon tank and carefully writing down my mileage it's never been a big issue. I tested the gauge and the needle moved down to empty so it's not the gaug, it's the sending unit. Oil and filter just changed Sept 1. Other work performed since I've owned the car: New master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, all new hoses and belts, cleaned and detailed the engine. More info contact Vinny 856-228-0152.
I WILL INCLUDE A SECOND SET OF WHEELS AND TIRES WITH THE CAR.
SET OF 4 - ORIGINAL CHEVY 15" RALLY WHEELS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION W/ G70-15 BIAS PLY RED LINE "CUSTOM CLASSIC WIDE TRAC" TIRES AS SEEN IN THE PHOTOS.
( THE ORIGINAL WHITE WALL TIRES IN SOME OF THE THE PHOTOS ARE GONE, THEY WERE REPLACED WITH THE BF GOODRICH SILVERTOWN RADIAL REDLINES)
THE WINNER OF THE IMPALA CAN NOW CHOOSE HIS "LOOK" AS SOME GUYS HAVE MESSAGED ME AND SAID THEY PREFER THE RALLY WHEELS TO THE 14" HUBCAPS. IF YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE GUYS, YOU CAN PUT THE RALLYS ON AND SELL THE 4 -14' simulated hub caps AND RADIAL TIRE COMBO.
It's a 50 year ol, un-restored survivor from the Northeast U.S- Philadelphia, Pa (not Arizona or Southern California) that saw very limited everyday use between 1968 & 1978 before becoming the original owners classic car always garaged.
The car is being sold AS IS-NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.
