1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Description

1966 Malibu 2D HT

This car has been upgraded to a more modern drivetrain for performance, fuel efficiency, reliability, and increased fun factor. The LT-1 coupled to the 6 speed manual trans and hydraulic clutch make it a thrill to drive. The 2.5” stainless exhaust features a crossover pipe and Magnaflow mufflers, giving this machine the perfect rumble without being too loud. She has never left me stranded. I hit the road for multiple hour road trips with zero concerns.

While this is not a 1000 Point show car, but it is in good condition and a blast to take to local shows and cruise in nights. The Vintage Air blows cold and the fuel mileage is great. The car is brought to a quick halt by 4 wheel disc brakes. The pads are like new. The rear end is the original 10 bolt.

Paint and body is in good driver condition. It does show some wear and imperfections form normal use, but nothing worth noting. All of the exterior trim looks to be original and in good driver condition as well. TheTheframe is in excellent condition withno rust or repairs. There has been some patches put in place on the front floorboards and trunk pan. It is a decent job, but not perfect. The doors close with a solid thud like a classic car should.

The car was restored by a previous loving owner. At the time the car was painted, all weather stripping was replaced. The interior was refitted with late model buckets up front and shoulder harness seatbelts. The front and back seats were recovered with matching material. Also replaced at that time was the headliner, carpet, dash pad, door panels, package tray, and kick panels. The dash was updated with a complete set of Auto Meter gauges. The upholstery is in excellent condition. The entertainment is provided via a Sony head unit, Memphis audio 6.5” and 6x9 speakers coupled to a Kicker ZX200.4 amp in the trunk. There is a USB port to connect your devises to.

Everything on the car works as it should including every light, gauge, and mechanicals.

Suspension is original plus a pair of air shocks on the rear for when the whole family piles in for a night at the local DQ cruise in.

The 17” American Racing Torque Thrusts are wrapped in 245/45-17’s and have about 65% tread remaining.

If you are looking for a fun to drive classic that can be enjoyed as is, then here’s your chance. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it to work daily or hit he open road across the country. Lou 731-697-8333
