1968 Chevrolet Camaro Description

This is an original unrestored1968 Camaro SS 396-375 HP restoration project. Still a one owner car with protectoplate and "Born With" original block,Muncie "Rockcrusher" M22 Transmission and 12 bolt 4:56 Positraction Rear. The protectoplate and dealers invoice verify the authenticity of this car. It has never been restored and will need most of the sheetmetal replaced. The shell is very solid but floors are rusty as well as the hood,fenders and quarters.The undercarriage, rear frame rails, rockersand shock towersare fine, actually veryclean,and are clearly pictured.The floor rust is from the inside. Caris ano console, front 4 piston disc brakes. Original color is British Racing Green andthe car is still original paint. Very few 1968 Camaros were built with the L78 engine (4,575) M22 (1,277)as well as the 4:56 gear in therear. Very few lasted this long with the original drivetrain as they were built to go fast in a straight line! Axle I.D. code is BW0617. The original block is in excellent condition, still very tight standard bore and is all apart and we just mocked it up for the pictures. 6223 steel Crankshaft is standard. Also comes with the 3/8 dimpled rods. Heads are dated 840's. Intake is correct 163. The original 1100814 Alternator is also still with the car. Unfortunately, the carb and distributor were not. This is an excellent, very low production,well documented original drivetrain car that will make a great project for the serious collector. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
