1991 Chevrolet Suburban SILVERADO Description

*******STARTING PRICE REDUCED TO $3700.00*******GREAT PRICE!!!
1991 Chevy Suburban 6.2 LITRE Diesel, aka “The Battle Wagon”. Last year for non computerized mechanically injected naturally aspirated 6.2 Detroit Diesel (J series HD) and first year for the reliable & tough GM 4L80E. This vehicle is driven weekly but current mileage is approximately 323,500. miles.(TRAILER NOT INCLUDED)The power train is very strong and frame is in my view solid, however, the body is rusting. This was a GM Truck & Bus company car- then offered to GM employees via employee purchase program and then released to a zone dealer auction. Pete Moore Chevy bought the Suburban at action in early 1993 and I purchased it with approximately 18,000.00 miles-I have owned it since.
Nobody has ever been into the engine; only auxiliary equipment (except for driver’s side cylinder head VALVE cover gasket replacement) like A/C, master cylinder, alternator, belts, TPS, radiator, batteries and regular maintenance has been replaced/performed. Battle Wagon has the original injection pump and all 8 original injectors. I have 8 NOS Bosch injectors at the ready in the box.
The transmission was replaced by GM early on so the current gearbox has north of 200K miles on it. Battle Wagon has Firestone 100 PSI Airbag load levelers for assist.
AMSOIL SYNTHETICS ( or early on MOBILE 1) have been used in every gearbox and the engine since I have owned her. The Battle Wagon has an AMSOIL extended drain remote bypass heavy duty oil filtration system. The motor has no perceptible “blow by” and even though there are some small leaks (weeping) she normally never leaves any oil on the ground. The motor does not use oil. The transmission shifts great and I pull a large trailer every week. Even the GM original equipment high idle solenoid still works. The A/C was converted to R-134/ the rear air is disconnected from the Freon system but all blowers work. Battle Wagon has an aftermarket electric trailer brake controller, an auxiliary dc plug-in outlet, Sirius radio docking station, auxiliary iPod/personal device radio jack and an ELECTRIC DIESEL FUEL LIFT PUMP. The speakers need some wiring attention...only a couple make sound-easy fix. The dash has some minor cracks. The driver seat is worn the most. We raised 5 children and this vehicle was the family’s franchise people mover. She has driven through numerous blizzards, sent three small cars to the graveyard and travelled through at least 30+ states. Call/email with questions.
The A/C needs Freon. I also have non-running (very clean-complete southern suburban) 1989 diesel 1500 Suburban donor vehicle that can be purchased as one package if desired.... if I don’t sell then I will fix the rust problem using the donor body onto the 3/4 ton frame.
Thanks for looking; call or email with questions.Kevin: 970.980.6278
