1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 car, paint code 72 Monaco Orange. Original bench seat, black vinyl top. Manual transmission, power disc brakes, power steering, 12 bolt. Original rear and Saginaw tranny, regular equipment group was this tranny, muncie was optional as just about everything. You can find this information onvarious chevellesites, date code correct big block, cam different manifold and carburetor. I do not know the internals. Car runs and drives, shifts threw the gears, stops etc, haven't had it out on the open highway.

I have many other pictures to send on request.

I've had the car over 3 yrs, selling a lotof the cars sitting around not finishing and one's I wanted to keep.

In the box - new carpet, front and rear door panels, arm rests and inserts, ss emblems, rear packing tray, 7 piece kit for vinyl top, on the car new rear trim and emblem, new SS 396 emblems in the bag, rear trim new, new shocks on the car and new gas tank and sending unit. New door handles and mirror on the car. Other new and old parts, other head light buckets etc in the box. Things i'm forgettingI'm sure. Very minimalrust very good solid car.

I'll pull the numbers again off the block, its a late 69 block used also threw 71/72 reads out of a Monte i believe 402. The late 69 Chevelle SS's were actually402s with 396 stickers and emblems. The steeringshaft/columnis from the Monte Carlo the motor came from, is my belief. Steering box numbers and everything else are all correct for the car.

Do not confuse the Fisher Body Number plate information with that found on theVehicle Identification Number(VIN) plate. The series depiction on the Fisher Body Number plate does NOT have the same meaning as the VIN plate. Fremont was the only 1969 assembly plant to use style numbers with an odd 3rd digit.

Some assembly plants have more information on their plates than others and some have information on different lines. Please check the individual assembly plants for specifics.

There is no absolute relationship between the cowl tag and the calendar. The build date was for Fisher's use and they changed the date at their discretion.

A week is a generally a week in the body code, you just can't say that the "A" week started on the 1st of the month, or the "E" (or "D") week ended on the 30th of the month.

Generally the "A" week of the month is the first FULL calendar week of a month. For example if the month ended on a Tuesday, then that whole "assembly" week was part of the previous month even though there was only one calendar day in that month. There are exceptions to that statement and differences from one assembly plant to another so it’s not really worth worrying about. Using the VIN numbers (at least for 69 and later cars) is a much better way of determining when in a month a particular car was built.

Body Number

It's also been noted that the body assembly unit numbers appear to be sequential to the body type (2-dr Malibu sport coupe, convertible, etc.) through model year 1969. From 1970 through 1972, the body assembly unit numbers are not sequential

Last picture is what the car will look like back to factory form.

Make your best offer, not going to take 10K so please don't offer that.

Ill add more pictures and also just request what you want
