1967 SS Clone Automatic Auto Big Block Chevy 454 Super Sport SS
1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Clone Description
Bulging rear fenders and a "flying buttress" roofline define the looks of the '67 Chevelle and make it the object of desire for so many of us. Add in a little bit of an attitude upgrade courtesy of modern engine and wheel technology, and you have the awesome car offered for your consumption here. Check it out. GM hit it out of the park with the styling of this car. It looks as good today as it did back then. This one has been refreshed with a Red paintjob that shines like new and is dressed up with new chrome to compliment the paint. Up front the big wide bumper underlines a black and chrome grill of horizontal lines. Quad headlights with chrome eyebrows are set on either side of the SS emblem in the center just under the SS hood. A racing flag badge adorns the front fender and Super Sport appears in script at the rear of those bulging rear fenders that are stretching to cover the Ridler 20" wheels. The taillights wrap around the back end nicely and have a simple black panel with an SS in the center. Top it off with a black vinyl roof that shows off the flying buttress roofline and underline it all with a fresh rear bumper and you have a great looking example of a classic Chevelle. The black and red treatment continues quite nicely on the interior of this car too. The door has a horizontal panel in black under a splash of red across the top. A beefy black steering wheel by Grant feels good in your hands and sits in front of a dash with a black padded upper, a red lower section, and in between, a wood tone insert trimmed with chrome piping along with a brushed aluminum panel. Auxiliary engine gauges help keep track of critical engine functions for water temp, oil pressure and voltage and are mounted under the dash in the center. A center console contains an analog clock to remind you that this is a 1960s car along with a T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission. So, settle down in those nicely reupholstered seats, grab that beefy steering wheel, and get ready to hold on tight. Because under the hood is a 454 cubic inch powerhouse that will make that analog clock lose a few seconds a run! It has a chrome air filter assembly that feeds an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold. Edelbrock aluminum heads that have been optimized for torque as well as horsepower get the job done with the help of an MSD distributor and ignition system. A bit of chrome dresses up the engine bay with Edelbrock valve covers and the alternator along with the master cylinder and brake booster all polished up and shining bright. Long tube headers extract the gases and send them downstream to Flowmaster mufflers that give the car a great sound. That automatic transmission is a TH400 that is well up to the job of getting all that power sent back to the 275/35ZR20 rear tires. 245/35s handle the steering and most of the braking duties up front assisted by power steering and front disc brakes. This is a great looking '67 Chevelle with 454 cubic inches of attitude sitting on 20" of rubber with a bit of chassis rake that says "let me run!". Come on down and check this car out.
