1980 Chevrolet Malibu Description

Please read entire ad Very carefully. This is a 1980 Chevy Malibu, 79000 Original miles with $18,818 invested, receipts attached. The engine is a 350 385 horsepower turn key crate motor with Jasper performance transmission purchased at and installed by Local Chevrolet Dealership. There are three Invoices from Chevrolet detailing everything that was done Totaling $16,238. And one from the performance shop totaling $2,580. Detail listing would be too numerous to list but all invoices are available for email Upon request.
Performance work that was done is New competition cam ( Spec sheet included) with matching Springs, Milled heads, aluminum radiator installed with new water pump and high Volume Flex cooling fan blade. All head gaskets and other gaskets were replaced with original performance gaskets used by Chevrolet in the motor when built. I don't know the Horsepower now since the performance work was done. But it was 385 hp, 385 foot pounds of torque before the performance work. Attached is a picture of the motor from Jegs Racing which is the exact motor that was installed by Chevrolet. See the matching part number. I've also attached a detailed spec sheet for the motor.
The mileage on the car at the time the performance work was done was 65,603 Miles. The mileage now is 79,800. The performance work was done In April 2015. That's a total of 14,000 miles in 3 years 6 months. That's an average of 3,300 miles per year on the car. It was driven very little. I don't know the exact mileage at the time the work was done at Chevrolet. If you notice it is not recorded on the invoices. But at the time I acquired the vehicle I was told that it was still under the 12,000 mile warranty from Chevrolet. I can't confirm that but that is what I was told. This car still runs like brand new. It does need some minor things to be complete In the cosmetic area.
All new weather strips have been purchased. I've installed them around the windows. I have all new weather strips for the doors they just haven't been installed yet but they are included. Also the new trunk weatherstrip has been installed. This is a factory Air condition car. The air condition hasn't been hooked up yet but everything is new. The interior is still original. It does need to be redone. But my intentions were to find another Malibu with original interior and replace it with the Original seats and door panels including the dash. Never got around to doing that.
I'm selling it because I have another project that I'm doing and I don't drive it much anymore. You can almost never get the price of what it took to build a old car when you sell it. But I believe at $8,500 It is fair based on the money that has been invested in the drive train alone. Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions. Shown by appointment only. If interested please call for info. I don't want to be doing a lot of back and forth emails.
