1966 Chevrolet C-10 shortbed Description

1966 Chevrolet C-10 Fleetside Pickup Truck

*Personally signed by: Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Drives straight, smooth. No vibration - no smoke - no fluid leaks.
Truck is fully functional and can be driven anywhere.

And hey, Dale Jr. gave it "thumbs up" and signed the glove box!
Numbers matching original engine, axle and transmission. Original owner "Protect-O-Plate" and dealer info included. 95,000 original miles.
Vehicle Grade:
There is no industry standard for grading. Several are used to decide vehicle condition. This truck has never been professionally graded.

Using the the 100 point grading system some might consider this truck an 80 or "fine" ....but not excellent...not perfect.
On the "1 thru 6" scale I would say it's a very good 3.
(1 being show quality and 6 being a parts car)
ENGINE:Original 250 six cylinder - has not been rebuilt
TRANSMISSION:Original 3 speed manual on column
BRAKES:Original drum brakes function as they should

ELECTRICAL:New wire harness for rear lights but everything else is original wiring/fuse box. New headlamps.
GLASS:New Safe-Lite windshield, original rear window and door glass.

BED WOOD:2014 Installed beautiful new OAK bed wood kit. It has since become weather/sun faded. I decided to let the new owner decide whether to refinish or paint. Underneath truck the oak wood is still glossy. (see photo)Note: These trucks came from the factory with bed wood painted black.

History:
Originally purchased in November 1965 at Gammill Chevrolet in Eupora Mississippi.I believe I'm the 4th owner.
2011: Frame-off restoration. When I got the truck it had rust issues in the usual places. It was disassembled, sandblasted. Rusted areas were cut out and replaced with correct stamped pieces from LMC Truck.
Body: Replaced both sides floor pans, rocker panels, cab mounts, replaced lower portion of original doors, installed new cab floor sound insulation, rubber floor mat, new cab seals, completely new weatherstrip, window seals, window and door run channel, drivers door regulator. Door bumpers.New trunnion tailgate hinge, chain/hardware, seat cover, replaced glove box cardboard and rubber.Paint job #1
SEE PHOTOS for condition of truck inside and out.
Mechanical: Replacedball joints, wheel bearings, clutch kit, radiator, hoses, belt, harmonic balancer, converted to electronic ignition, new spark plugs, wires, valve cover gasket, four matching tires, new shocks, front alignment.
Electrical: Working headlights (Hi-Lo beam), parking and brake lights, turn signals, back-up lights, tag light, dimmer light for gauges, high-beam "Bright" indicator, cigarette lighter, cab light, 2 speed wiper/windshield washer, speedometer and after market water temp gauge.
Photo gallery shows exterior, interior as well as front and rear suspension.

2018: Replaced both doors and vent windows.
(I was not satisfied with the "modification" of original doors but they are included with truck)
September paint job #2...this time to include engine bay.
Replaced stainless body trim molding. Flushed radiator added fresh coolant.
Included with truck: New firewall pad, various body and engine decals, original doors. Documentation of media event with Dale Jr.
Note: As BEAUTIFUL as this truck is...it is not perfect. VIEW PHOTOS CAREFULLY

*Dale story related to this truck:
Tallahassee Florida: I attended a private Media event on Thursday January 30, 2014 at Dale Jr. Chevrolet Dealership. After my radio interview with Dale I asked if he would check out my truck and sign it...he, of course, was more than happy to.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. opened the door of this truck and signed the glove box. His entourage (assistant, photographer and Dale's sister) took 3 photos of him signing. (photo reveals paint scheme of the old door prior to my swapping doors) After looking it over...while Dale was walking away gave me a "thumbs-up" and said "nice truck!"
Three weeks later February 23, 2014 he WON the Daytona 500 driving for Hendrick Motorsports - his second Daytona 500 victory breaking a 55-race winless streak.
No other truck on ebay has a story like that! Own it! You too will be getting thumbs up everywhere you go!
