1970 CAMARO SS NUMBERS MATCHING "BRASS" RESTOMOD
1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS Description
This build has been a dedicated battle to bring back a piece of history, a glorious 1970 Camaro SS, was saved from the car reaper a little over 2 and half years ago. It is a true numbers matching ca, the body all the way down to the matching 12 bolt Rear End. This whole car has been stripped to bare steel and repaire, primed and painted ; undercarriage and all. Over 3000 hours logged and a little over $50,000 in all new O.E. GM certified parts, down to the o.e. gm certified bolt kit. Some things have been modified for the custom features on this ca, like the electronic Thunder Road gauges. This numbers matching 350 cu engine has been refurbished, the numbers matching heads were milled and installed with new o.e. valves, spring, and etc; the shortblock has been rebuilt too. It received a new gas pump, new msd distributo, brand new spark plugs/wires, and more! Brand new pushrods and gaskets all around ; the numbers matching 4 speed Muncie is official restored, was sandblaste, primed in high heat prime, and gold flake high heat enamel to match the engine; and its backed with a brand new clutch and flywheel. This is not the typical 1970 Camaro, even though this car has the guts and glory of its other brothers and sisters. The brand new O.E. springs have been prepped and plated in bras, in an antique brushed finish. These springs are bare brass! The original factory matching "SS" package swaybar and the factory matching intake were also prepped, sandblasted, acid dipped, before being finished in antique brass too. This is the only 2nd gen Camaro I've seen ever created with brass on it, and it accents the car very nicely. The Subframe, 12 bolt rear end, driveshaf, and suspension parts have all been stripped to bare steel ;primed and then painted in porsche silver. This matches the porsche silver deck stripes and the porsche silver inside the interior of the car. The door handles, steering column, transmission crossmember, heating core, shifting beze, and interior trim is all been primed and painted Porsche Silver to match. The Shifting knob has been painted Blue Pearl with silver paint in the pattern and hurst logo to match the rest of the car. The Undercarriage is also been stripped to bare steel on a rotisserie; it has been prime, painted in blue pearl to patch the outside, with Porsche Silver in the back half of the wheel wells (where its split, one half is Blue Pearl which was sprayed over Wurth Undercoating, and the other half is Porsche Silver in Matte Finish) and the front wheel wells are completely Porsche Silver. The interior was ripped down to bare steel to, primed and undercoated on the floorboards, then new o.e. carpet/sound deadener was installed, also new a new o.e. dash pad and parts ; the seat frames are original and were stripped, had new foam installed, and new vinyl, to keep the interior true to this glorious SS camaro survivor car. The car has brand new ball joints, brand new o.e. stainless steel brake lines, brand new brake hardware; almost every part has been replaced with new o.e parts. The harness has been replaced with an american autowire o.e. time correct wiring harness, so the whole system is updated and ready to go to survive time again. This car has been garage kept since its been restored and while being restored, and only hand washed. This car received brand new o.e. glass all around, brand new side mirrors/gaskets, trim and more. The exhaust system is a long tube hooker headers with 3 inch exit, with a custom 2.5 inch h pipe single muffler /dual Flowmaster exhaust system; this creates that deep loud but enjoyable growl that you yearn for from your classic smallblock power system! This engine has a mild lope from the new cam which accents the classic pushrod chevy sound awesomely. The o.e grille on the car has been sandblasted to bare material, prepped and painted porsche silver; same with the o.e. headlight bezels. The front o.e. side markers have been tinted. The original o.e. fender emblems are painted in Gold Flake and Silver to match the engine/transmission. The o.e. grille emblem received the same gold paint with silver paint accenting! The brake booster/ heating core cover is painted Porsche silver! The heating core fan is finished in gold flake paint! The master cylinder is gold flake paint too, with the o.e brass connectors for the brake lines, that have been polished and cleaned. The cars engine is also cooled off with a brand new o.e. radiator and o.e. hoses. The heating core hoses have been upgraded to chrome hoses, to match the awesome slant cut polished chevy valve covers and quad barrel carburetor! Both original factory bumpers have been acid dipped and repaired, and replated chrome! This a truly sound car that deserves a safe place to stay in glory for its rest of its life.
