Up for sale this beautiful 1961 Corvette with history. This car belonged to the Wienerschnitzel hot dog chain owner until 2001 when the "on the cup" contest took place. This car was manufactured in the first year the hot dog chain opened. So this was the car that was the focus and the grand prize in the contest. The winner of this car only drove it the first couple of years and not again. The claim was that it was a "fully-refurbished" vintage 1961 Corvette. All of this information is available online. The winner was told from the rep. that it was a 1961 and 1/2 car, and it is titled in the late part of 1961. Could be a numbers matching car due to this with the 327, however, my history search tells of a 283 for this year. I have not been able to find verification to this one way or the other.
This car runs and drives great, starts right up. Showing 84,000 something miles on the odometer. All the gauges work. The spare tire is believed to be the very original that came with it new in 1961, as well as the tools for the spare. Believed to be correct wheels as well, correct for this car. Lots of chrome in great shape, looks new almost. Correct big loop carpet as well. The rag top is in extremely great condition, looks almost new with the exception of one tiny blemish,NOT even a tear on the passenger side. The seatbacks are good, the seat bottoms both could use re stitching as they are coming loose, but there are no rips no tears on them period. The chassis number DOES match the number on the title.
This beautiful piece of history is a real eye catcher. Not many of these left in existence in this good of condition. And this one has the history attached to it as a celebrated year of opening for Americas largest hot dog chain! Please ask any and all questions they will be answered to the best of my knowledge. The car is located in Texas, buyer is responsible for transport it is possible that I could deliver myself if details can be worked out for both parties. Thank you for your interest.
