1965 Chevrolet Impala SS 396 Tribute Description

If you like to do things your own way, if you like to be a little bit different rather than following the crowd, then check out this Impala. It's a car you don't see that often, in a color that is definitely unique. Full sized muscle cars are great. You have plenty of room to comfortably take your friends or family along on adventures, whether those adventures are across town on a Friday night, or across the country. This car doesn't look like a full-sized car though. The Black vinyl roof and the gorgeous Copper Metallic paint makes this two-door body look much smaller. The bulging rear fenders arch up and over the wheel wells and meet the sloping roofline smoothly for a great look. A body line running front to rear down the side is highlighted by a pinstripe adding to the long, low look, and chrome trims out the wheel wells as well as the rocker panels. Up front there is an SS 396 badge in the chrome eggcrate grill flanked by quad headlights which is underlined by a wraparound bumper. Crossed racing flags and Super Sport grace the front fenders, and at the back, triple round taillights are underlined by an Impala SS badge and another sharp looking chrome bumper. Open the door and you will find a super sharp interior in Black and Chrome that looks like it's brand new. The door panel has a pleated upper section with an SS badge in the center and a smooth vinyl center with chrome piping adding some flash between the sections. The front buckets are big and comfortable for long distance cruising and look good with chrome seat back framing and pleated black vinyl with a custom pattern pressed into the center. The back seat gets the same treatment along with a leaping Impala on the speaker grill in the center. A two spoke steering wheel has another leaping Impala in the center of the chrome horn ring. Behind it is a horizontal speedometer with the engine gauges in a round pod on the left, and a tachometer in one on the right. A polished and machine turned panel running across the dash below it holds the control knobs. The T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission rises out of a sharp looking, chrome trimmed, black center console. Pop the hood and you will find a healthy 396 cubic inch motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. Like the outside of the car, this motor is presented in a bit of unique manner too. Instead of piling it up with chrome, a nice silver look dominates. It dresses out the air topper and the M/T finned valve covers. Under the air filter is an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and intake manifold feeding the engine. An MSD ignition system handles the sparking duties and long tube headers get the spent gasses out and headed back to dual Flowmaster mufflers. Power is sent back through a 2-speed Powerglide transmission to a 12-bolt rear end. Trailing arms and coil springs along with fresh suspension work that includes new sway bar bushings in the front help the car get the power on the ground and handle well. Eagle alloy wheels tuck up under the fender wells and complete the look of this car nicely. A full-sized muscle car with big block power and an attention-grabbing paint job. If this sounds like the way you like to do things, then come on down and check this car out. It's a nice one.
