This car was purchased new by my Grandmother and I have the original Dealer's Purchase Order dated 01/26/1959. It still has the original dealer plate frames, however the one on the front is broken and the bottom half is missing. This car was built and first sold in California and has only been titled, registered, and driven in California. It's currently on Non-Op with the California DMV.

I found one of my grandmother's insurance documents for this car, it's dated 01/05/1986, and the mileage listed is 24,000. I believe she simply forgot the leading “1” in front of that number. I acquired this car from her not too much later and stopped driving it in 1989 when a freeze plug at the back of the block started to leak. At the time, the car was running and driving fine, but it was suggested the engine might as well be rebuilt when it was pulled to replace the plug. I had too many irons in the fire already and chose to park it. To the best of my knowledge, neither the engine nor the transmission have ever been opened up.

There appears to be bondo on the hood and in the top area of the driver's door, and it may be elsewhere on the car. All glass, except the passenger door window, has the same marking and is free from cracks, but some is damaged from age and/or heat. There is some cancer in the trunk, in the bottom of the well where the spare tire was kept, and under/around the seal on the trunk lid.
