1964 Chevrolet El Camino Description

There's just something unmistakably cool about this 1964 Chevrolet El Camino all dressed in red inside and out. But beyond the attention-grabbing appearance, it has been restored with a loaded interior, overdrive transmission, and shining big block power. So this is a muscle car classic that's also everyday comfortable. This is the first year the El Camino was made from the intermediate Chevelle underpinnings. The move by Chevy is now legendary for really turning this coupe/pickup into a performance machine. You see the history perfectly on this restored example because the 1964-correct Ember Red paint has a modern clearcoat luster that reflects the aggressive legacy that this very cool vehicle has now earned. Not only is the color aggressive, but when it's as glossy as this, it also shows off this pickup's amazing body. We're not sure if this El Camino never worked for a living, or if the rumored $50,000 frame-off restoration included getting the body this straight. Either way, it now has excellent gaps and impeccable fit that gives off a uniform shine when the sunlight hits it. You'll even notice that under the tonneau cover there's a carpeted truck bed. With paint and bodywork so nice, only the best brightwork will do. That's why the wide chrome bumpers, window trim, rockers, wheel arches, and even the factory hub caps on the color-matched wheels have a mirror-like appearance. The red continues inside with a full custom interior. The dash, door panels, and carpeting have a very factory-like appearance, but they are obviously fresh from investment. They need to be new, because they are joined by a whole host of upgrades. It starts with a pair of bucket seats. Not only do these have modern bolstering to be all-day comfortable, but also they power adjust to your ideal position. Plus, you have great modern features like R134a air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo, and a CD changer that's mounted into the full custom rear panel. But the best features are reserved just for the driver. Your right hand will love the Lokar shifter. The wood and chrome steering wheel is mounted on a Flaming River tilt column. And beyond that are the cool factory gauges, including a center-mounted tach. It's all a clear indication that this El Camino has some serious power. The engine bay could win awards all on its own. The gloss black fender wall funnel your attention to a big block that was rebuilt for show and go. The polished valve covers, air topper, alternator, and so much more will have you reaching for your sunglasses. But it's what's beyond the shine that's really impressive. This 396 cubic-inch V8 has been fortified with beehive valve springs, roller rockers, and magnesium pushrods. Plus, it has go-fast goodies like a large Holley 750CFM four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock hi-rise intake, Mallory ignition, and headers. When you mash the accelerator, the Pypes X-pipe dual exhaust does the perfect job of matching the mean performance with a mean growl. But when you're just cruising, this El Camino settles down into a pleasant tune... and this dual personality is exactly how you should view this coupe/pickup. After all, the 700R4 four-speed automatic is stout enough to handle all the V8 power, and it's also great for overdrive cruising. Plus, there's a large four-core aluminum radiator to keep this full package running cool, even in traffic. Add in great anytime driving features like power steering and front disc brakes, and you can see yourself driving this vintage car every day. Complete with build receipts, when you can find something this amazing at such a great price, you're going to have to be quick to get it in your garage. Call today!!!
