1985 Chevrolet Blazer Description

This is a custom built 4 wheel drive blazer. It has had a lot of custom work done on it and is a real fun mud truck. The work was all done by a reputable mechanic right here in my small Kansas home town. The individual who built this blazer has built many of these type of custom toys and is good at what he does. The vehicle was originally a mail carrier vehicle for a tiny town near where I live.
It was a complete body off restoration and custom build. The original frame and suspention was replaced with a full size 4 wheel drive frame, suspention and rear end. Which gave the stock narrow blazer a much wider stance. This of course making the tall narrow blazer nearly impossible to roll over. The front clip was extended 6 inches to allow plenty of room for the almost indestructable straight 6 cylinder engine. Also allowing all the room you would need if you ever wanted to install a small block V8 or a big block V8 engine. The engin, transmission, rear end and custom build were all completly rebuilt. They have just over 7,000 miles on them now. Everything under the hood and drive trai, 4 wheel drive are tight and in perfect working condition. I does'nt burn any oil.It has electric radiator cooling fans. The frame to suspention lift is 5.5 inches. The frame to body lift is also 5.5 inches. So the entire vehicle lift is 11 inches combined. It is a tall 4 wheel drive fun in the mud toy. The tires and wheels are 18 inch. The chrome wheels are American racing wheels and in good condition. It has manual front lock out hubs. The transfer case 4x4 and drive shafts including U joints are all in good shape.
There has been A LOT of work done in bringing this 4x4 to where it is.However, there are a few small things that could use attention in my opinion.they are:
While it runs great, ALWAYS starts and never misses a beat. . . . . I personally would put a new carburator on it. I say that because, when its cold outsid, you have to pump the foot feed sveral times when you first start it. Then hold the idle up just a little for 20 or 30 seconds during initial warm up. Not a big deal at all. A manual choke cable would also remedy the issue. I personally would prefer the newer carb with an electronic choke. That way you could just turn the key and the initial warm up would be automaticly done for you.The other issues are that the the rear speakers are missing and need replaced. The stock guages on the dash are not all hooked up. the temperature guage and fuel guage are hooked up and working. The alternator guage and oil pressure guage can be hooked up and work fine or you can install an after market guage set pretty inexspensivly. The cloth head liner is missing as well. I did price the replaement liner at a local salvage yard. It can be purchased for $30.These issues are all very minor details and could be taken care of with a couple hundred dollars in a few hours of time.Over all, this is a very solid running 4x4 and is very dependable.. If you are familiar with the chevrolet steel block straight 6 engine. Then you know they are very strong running engines, nearly bullet proof and hard to kill. That is the same with the entire mechanical condition of this custom build 4 wheeler. It is solid as a rock.Cosmeticly, the vehicle was also painted. The body is very straigh, dent free and rust free. The winshield is goo, no chips and all of the other glass is also in good shape. The interior is in pretty good shape also. Howeve, the center console is missing. This is also a cheap replacement part.It runs and drives good down the road.
I have a lot of money tied up in this 4x4 and will probably never recoupe it on the sale price. My loss is your gain on this one.
I am going to take a risk on it as well. I am listing it as a 99 cent NO RESERVE auction. I have had some good luck selling on EBAY in this type of listing format in the past. So my fingers are crossed for a fair outcome.
You are welcome to look at the vehicle in person if you wish as well as test drive it.
Local pick up is ok if you like. If shipping is required. You will need to arrange a transport truck to pick it up from my address and pay the shipping cost. I have done this a couple of times here on EBAY. Its not a complicated process and is actually affordable. This vehicle is being sold AS IS. No refunds will be available on this sale. I try my absolute best in being honest in the description so that both parties involved in the transaction will be satisfied.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer them in a timely mannor.
