MotoeXotica presenst this custom 1958 Chevrolet Rat Rod Monster 4X4 Stepside Pickup Truck. This is one unique mud bogger but unfortunately was involved with an engine compartment fire! When we first purchased this truck from a seller in Arizona, we decided to drive the truck up the street to a local car show. On the way to the show, we believe the battery terminals made contact with the hood and caused a major electrical short. The engine compartment resulted to fully catch on fire and the local fire department was called and put out the fire on the truck. Please be sure to watch our video on this truck as we were able to capture video footage of the whole fire situation and really explains what happened. You can view that video below:

We have purchased the vehicle back from the insurance company and selling it "as is" on a Arizona Salvage title. We believe this truck still has a lot of potential as the previous owner really spent a lot of money and time building this truck. We do not know what still operates or not with this vehicle and just how much was destroyed by the fire and water. The photos and video should answer a lot of questions but feel free to call us with more specific questions.

The previous owner's brother reports the truck has been in their family for years and the owner asked his brother to help him sell it. The conversion was not a frame swap instead, it was a custom-engineered suspension system on the original frame for this street legal truck.

Under the hood is a 350 CID V-8 with a four-bolt main that's been bored over .60, a Holley 860 true dual feed carburetor, an Edelbrock air gap rpm high-performance intake, Hooker headers, 202 350 heads, pop-up pistons, roller rockers, an Edelbrock double roller timing chain, ported and polished with a high-performance crankshaft and high-flow oil pump. Backing that engine is a four-speed automatic transmission (700R4) and 4.56 gearing, complete with a Hurst shift lever topped by a skull knob; the transfer case selector lever has one, too.

Truck features a New Process 203 transfer case (from an I-H truck), a 10-bolt rear end, a Dana 44 front end, Chromally one-ton axles, custom-fitted to housings, Detroit lockers front and rear, Flowmaster dual exhaust, an 8,000-pound Waren winch built into front bumper, 60x120 high-angle drive shafts and 46-inch Michelin X military tires, 395/85R20, surrounding 20-inch, black Rockstar five-spoke wheels with chrome star centers.

There's a 22-gallon fuel cell located in truck bed, a custom rollbar, sunroof, removable, custom rear mud flaps, tow hook and LED taillights.

The huge 46" tires with big wheels are in good shape. The body panels are in decent shape. The truck had power steering and the power brakes have been converted to power disc in front while retaining drums in back.

Inside, you'll find custom AK carbon fiber racing bucket seats replaced the factory bench. There's an Auto Meter instrument cluster with tachometer mounted on steering column, a Hurst shifter topped with skull knob with a similar treatment on transfer case selector lever, a performance steering wheel and custom pedals. Truck includes a custom stereo system with amplifier, four speakers and two subwoofers, a GPS speedometer, a train horn and a Viper anti-theft alarm. The dash paint has burns from the fire and we believe a lot of the electronics behind the dash has been melted.

Current mileage on the odometer shows 140,411 miles. It is sold as is, where is, non-running, on a salvage, Arizona title.
