1966 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible Description

This is a restoration of an 80,000 mile California black plate car.
It has been driven 9,000 miles since a total rebuild which included the following:
Engine:
Cylinders bored .030 oversize
New forged pistons and rings
New NOS cylinder heads, valves, springs
New NOS camshaft (stock turbo)
New NOS lifters
New main and rod bearings
New oil pump gears
New fan bearing
New fan idler pulley
New NOS turbo distributor and pressure retard
New crankshaft damper pulley
Rebuilt alternator
Rebuilt starter
Rebuilt turbo using full NOS kit
Rebuilt turbo carb

As you would expect, it drives like new. Options include an AM/FM radio, wood steering wheel,and, of course, the turbocharged engine. Corvairs, in general, are well supported.
Parts and reproductions are readily available from Clark's Corvair Parts and others.
It has a few flaws. See the last 3 pictures. There is a small dent on top of the driver's side front fender.
A small crack and a paint bubble below it can be found below the
passenger's side windshield. The silver paint in the rear cove is starting to craze.
Also, it has some small paint chips.
All in all, this is as nice of a convertible Corvair as you are likely to find. It can't be duplicated at this price.
