1952 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe New interior in1996 Description
1952 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Sedan. "OLD BLUE".
I have owned this since 1995 and have enjoyed it very much.I will try to describe it to the best of my ability so no surprises. The interior was replaced in 1996 with two tone blue/grey soft cloth.235 in-line 6 cylinder engine RUNS GREAT! DRIVES GREAT.
3 speed manual transmission column shift "three on the tree".Good clutch. Oil bath air filter.New exhaust and intake manifold gaskets 2018.Rebuilt carburetor in 2018.
95701.4 miles and counting. Always stored indoors.Always repaired whatever it needed. This car runs and drives very well. Cruises at 75 or 80 mph no problem. Around 19 mpg. Good horn and LOUD!
Great tires, 4 matching all season radials and original spare.Manually adjusted brakes are good, rebuilt system in 2008.Alignment is good. Stops straight.Wing windows provide plenty of air.The heater and vents work great.6 volt electrical system with a generator works properly.
Good muffler and tailpipe are nice and quiet. All door knobs and handles work properly.Locks match and work correctly.Good solid dry body. Minimal rust shown in the photos. The paint has many small dings and patina, looks good overall and still shines nicely. There are several small dents, scratches, etc.All gauges and interior lights work properly.Head lights and rear running lights work correctly. The brake lights and rear turn signals are not working and could be an easy fix. Either a bad ground around the taillight bezel or loose wire inside the turn signal module. Front signals work fine.Vacuum operated wipers work correctly, and could use new rubber blade refills.
This car is 67 years old. It has many small flaws and always needs a little bit of tinkering. If you have never owned a car like this or are new to eBay please do not bid. Please do not expect a NEW CAR.
The driver's side door striker needs adjustment, you have to slam the door and that's why the glass is cracked. I have replacement glass for it but never got around to it. The window felts are worn out so the windows rattle, I use wooden shims to stop that. New felts are available here on eBay, never got around to that either. Rear passenger glass is also cracked. Replacement glass also provided. Manual transmission shift handle is a bit sloppy and will get stuck in the middle if you are not careful. Shift smoothly and it works fine. Replacement parts are available here on eBay but I have always just driven it like this. Mice chewed a hole in the headliner that first year (above the passenger visor, visible in the photos). One small rust hole above the rear bumper. Manual steering has a bit of play and could be tightened but drives fine like this. This car has leaks... always check fluid levels. There are 3 pock-marks in the glass, two in the windshield and one in the passenger glass. Also, there is silicone sealant on the window rubber, the interior man did this (not me) to seal out moisture and it seems to have done the trick.
I could drive this car anywhere, even across the country.BUT for this listing I recommend that it be placed on a trailer for shipping or hauling any long distance.
