____1969 CHEVROLET__ __CHEVELLE
Available for sale is an American automotive culture icon, a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible. This gem pays tribute to the legendary SS 396, and was a frame off restoration with the best quality performance parts available. The objective was to preserve the styling and cosmetic features of a 60s legend, and make it faster, more reliable, comfortable, have dependable power by taking advantage of modern engineering advances. It had to be easy to drive, low maintenance, keep up with modern day traffic (and occasionally blow through it), all while retaining the beautiful unmistakable styling of the best era in American automotive history. The result is a restored street-rod, that has over 355hp (understatement) on demand, with brakes that stop better then you intend, suspension geometry that makes a nimble controllable car that manages its weight very well, especially in the corners. The steering is light, while accurate and gives confidence to the driver while navigating. The modified crate stroker engine puts out power through every gear, ready to perform any day, with torque for days!
This slow frame off restoration was completed about 10 years ago, and began with one of the best examples you can chose to restore; a 2 owner, 22K original miles, California rust free, accident free excellent condition Malibu convertible with a 350. Many pictures of the original car are available in the restoration album that will accompany the car. Since the completed restoration, the car has been pampered and enjoyed for 10K miles in Malibu CA.To pay tribute to the legendary SS 396, all cosmetic styling cues and features have been adapted to the car during restoration (badges, trim, etc).An impressive collection of many many receipts and build sheets will accompany this car. Almost all the receipt for all the new parts and upgrades are still available, with over $10K in receipts spent on brand new parts alone, not including any labor, paint, mechanical or upholstery services.
Below is a limited spec sheet of what the mechanical restoration comprised of.

While the chassis was off the body, the suspension was completely rebuilt and upgraded with all new control arms and bushings, larger sway bars, rebuilt 9" Ford rear end was installed, Eibach springs, new performance rear control arms, shocks, balanced driveshaft, rebuilt gas tank, upgraded front disk brakes with new master and booster, and much more. Everything was upgraded with better performance parts that were available at the time of restoration, to produce the pro-street driving characteristics. The Chevelle sits on a set of beautiful staggered Boyds billet wheels.
The interior was also revamped with all new components that would pay tribute to the deluxe SS interior. New tilt column, bucket seats with new upholstery throughout, carpet kit with sound deadener lined floors, Alpine CD/MP3 stereo (inside glove box), Infinity speakers, center console, performance aux gauges, new window cranks and door handles, complete weather stripping & seals kit, and more. Recent interior service (within the last month) included new seat foam, and a brand new black canvas convertible top. The top works perfectly. the rear glass is perfect.
The body was painted in original Chevy Azure turquoise paint, a high quality 2 stage paint job, performed on a perfect rust free, dent free 22k mile Malibu body (pictures available of original car, during restoration and body work, and post paint)The current condition is a testimony to the quality of work and materials used. After 10 years, the paint and body work is excellent, with no corrosion, bubbling or any other body work flaws anywhere. Top to bottom the paint was done perfectly, with excellent gaps and multiple layers of clear coat to insure years of shine and paint finish longevity. All chrome has been restored, and all exterior trim pieces, (badges, grill, bezels, etc) are new.
This beautiful American legend has provided its current owner 10 years of joy, but its time for this Chevelle to be passed on and continue its legacy with a new custodian. This classic is ready to be enjoyed and needs nothing. Ready for car shows, road trips and your weekend top-down cruises!
