The car’s bodywork is solid and straight, including the optional body-color hardtop and white soft-top.
There is also a separate rack for hardtop storage when not in use.
The trunk is in near-excellent condition, the engine bay is very tidy, the battery appears fresh and the bumpers fit well to the car’s body.
This was the first year for the restyled “duck-tail” or “boat-tail” rear end added by then-new GM head stylist Bill Mitchell, which would return on the second-generation model. It was also the first year for the four-light taillight treatment that continues on the current model.
Inside, the red leather bucket seats are in excellent condition, as is the matching carpet and red metal instrument panel with full instrumentation.
The large, three-spoke steering wheel is in very good order while the red inner door panels echo the rest of the interior’s theme.
The shift lever, topped by a white ball, is in very good condition.
