1967 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 Deluxe Description

With the Chevelle, Chevrolet created that rare car that could be all things to all people. And it wasn't by accident that they designed it to handle the biggest of big blocks, up to and including the 572 cubic inch monster under the hood of this dazzling black hardtop. With a quick shifting 4-speed and elegant leather interior, this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 Deluxe is an absolute stunner that's a joy to drive. Take a closer look. Originally... Madeira Maroon, this Chevelle has no need to keep a low profile anymore, and thanks to the sinister black paint, it cuts through parking lots with a swagger that would make Clint Eastwood proud. And it's more than just serious blasting powder under the hood that makes this one so special, it's the incredible build quality that shows in every little bit of the car. The photos aren't doctored, this car really is that straight and shiny, obviously the work of a lot of hours and a substantial pile of cash. But it was worth it, because the gaps are excellent, the sheetmetal aligns just right, and those 572 emblems are obviously not original, but located where they're supposed to be according to factory spec. There's a cowl-induction hood for a little extra clearance, a sporty chin spoiler up front, and the car has been stanced with a wickedly aggressive rake. Nothing goes better with black than shiny chrome, and the bumpers and bright work are sparkly and clean, offering the kind of contrast that makes this Chevelle glisten as it's going down the road. What a beauty! Factory-style deep red leather upholstery works perfectly with the black exterior, and it's a nice way to keep this car feeling like a proper Chevelle. It has been expertly restored to pretty much stock specs with beautiful new seat covers, door panels, and correct carpets. The bright parts and crisp detailing give it an OEM look inside, particularly the 3-spoke steering wheel and nicely presented instruments, which are joined by a set of auxiliary gauges under the dash. No console needed here, as the cue-ball topped Hurst shifter looks great and adds to this car's performance credentials. A retro-style AM/FM/iPod compatible stereo radio slots into the original location and even uses original-style knobs so it really blends in nicely. A Vintage Air A/C system was added during the restoration, and it fills the cabin with cold air via vents installed on a top panel of the dash and on either end of it as well. Out back the trunk is conservatively finished with primer paint and a carpeted mat and it houses a full-size spare. The Bill Mitchell Merlin III 572 V8 big block drops right into the Chevelle's engine bay, but before that happened, everything was painted, polished, and prepped for show. Check out the clean inner fenders and firewall, and the careful way all the lines and plumbing have been routed. Turning back to the monster that lies within: A noticeable cam provides a lope in the motor that can shake up the pavement, and as if it needed any more oomph, aluminum heads, a raised polished intake, and heavy-duty carburetor all work in unison to rate this big block at an impressive 750HP. A thick aluminum radiator keeps everything cool, while long-tube headers are linked to a stainless 3-inch exhaust system with Flowmasters flanking the 12-bolt rear. A quick-shifting Muncie "Rock Crusher" 4-speed manual transmission takes full advantage of this magnificent brute with the help of a hot-rodder respected Hays clutch. Huge horsepower wasn't the only consideration in this professional build, as power steering makes the driving experience much more enjoyable and front disc brakes are a welcome upgrade that help stop the whole show on command. Boss Motorsports 5-spoke rims go perfectly with the stance of the Chevelle and are wrapped in 245/40/18 (front) and 275/40/18 (rear) radials. You couldn't possibly duplicate this fantastic build for the asking price, even if the car was given to you for free. If you appreciate quality, you'll love this car. A black Chevelle with huge horsepower and handsome looks means this one won't last long. Call today!
