1959 Chevrolet Brookwood Description

1959 Chevrolet Brookwood Wagon Custom Show Car
This '59 Brookwood really stands tall! It was built to Show and Drive, and we think you will agree, it's stunning, and professionally done with quality in mind. You will be proud to drive and show this rare Brookwood anytime, anywhere!Refinished in the original Crown Sapphire and Snowcrest White with clear coat from Dupont. Pinstriping is on top of the clear coat and could be removed if you so desire. Bumpers were re-chromed a few years ago. The body is straight, and the doors close perfectly. The interiorwas redone in '59 Impala cloth and vinyl pattern. Interior trim and moldings were removed and re-painted with abse and clear coat just as slick as the outside. The interior trim looks great too. THis car has all the original Eazy Eye green glass, even the windshield and vent windows. The 406 Chevy small black was just rebuilt by an ex Cosworth engine builder and it has forged pistons, Dart II big valve heads, Lunati Cam, Crane roller rockers, Edelbrock air gap intake, and a Holley 750 Carb. Powder coated Hooker Headers go into a custom powder coated dual exhaust with Bosal mufflers and NASCAR style oval tips. Freshly rebuilt 700R4 overdrive tranmission with new torque converter for easy highway cruising. Giant 14" rotors and 4 piston calipers out of a Z06 Corvette up front powered by a Wilwood dual resevior master cylinder with adjustable proportioning valve. Fully adjustable air ride suspension from Accuair with guages in the glove box for all four corners. The five spoke, two peice, Eagle billet wheels ride on 225/40 ZR18's up front and 275/35 ZR20's in the back. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia:For the second time in as many years, Chevrolet again came up with a totally new car. From the front or rear, the 1959 Chevrolets resembled nothing else on the road. From the headlights, placed as low as the law would allow, to the cats-eye tail lights, the 1959 Chevrolet was a brand new car with all new sheet metal. The most visual new change was the flat, wing-shaped tailfins.[6]The car was built on a 119in (3,023mm)wheelbaseand was 211in (5,359mm) long-which was 11in (279mm) longer than the 1957 model. This made Chevrolet the longest car in the low-priced range, whereas two years before it had been the shortest. In addition, the car was 3in (76mm) wider outside and had 5in (127mm) more width inside than it did in 1958, through the reduction of door thickness. The frame GM X frame had no side rails.
