1987 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 3500 Silverado Description

Here it is, the “Holy Grail” of Squarebody pickups. 1987 Chevrolet V30 factory 1-ton single rear wheel long bed with 454 “Big Block”, Dana 60 Front Diff, NP205 Transfer Case, Factory A/C, and Silverado Package. This truck is absolutely one of the finest examples you will see of an unrestored, nearly all original Squarebody pickup. It has been garaged since day one as evidenced by an original and nearly flawless ZERO crack dash and ZERO rust issues! It is fairly unique as well since it has the Silverado package which includes all the finest amenities and visuals these trucks came with, but at the same time it was ordered from the factory without power windows and locks as the window motors and door locks are notorious for having issues in these trucks. Also includes period correct Warn bumper and winch.

Truck was painted several years ago to address some of the paint peeling these trucks commonly have. The paint was done in the factory color, and this was not some cheap paint job, it was professionally done to a cost of over 10k. That being said I have put some miles on this truck so it has a few rock chips, but still looks absolutely amazing. Bed was taken off while painted, LineX’d in the bed, and new NOS fuel tanks were installed as well as new plumbing and fuel pump. Needless to say the fuel tanks switch back and forth flawlessly.

Truck fires up with ease, as it is Throttle Body Injected and runs like a swiss clock. The engine was rebuilt less than 10k miles ago to factory specs, and still retains all smog pumps, A/C pump and factory exhaust manifolds. While the engine was out of the truck, all accessories were replaced or rebuilt, so just about everything under the hood is new including Energy Suspension motor mounts. The engine is very clean as well as the engine compartment itself.

Interior is amazingly clean and well cared for. Like I said earlier, the original dash has no cracks, the seat has no tears, carpet is clean and all the trim and brushed aluminum is in fantastic shape. You will be absolutely stunned by how clean and original the interior is. I also added aftermarket speakers which fit into the factory mounts so it looks all original, as well as Bazooka Tube subwoofer behind the seat which combined to really make an enjoyable experience on those summer cruises.

The undercarriage is very clean, it has been painted but as you can see in the pictures, it was only done to finish off the trucks pristine look. The Bilstein 5125 Monotubes cap off the cleanest undercarriage this side of the Mississippi. Of course all fluids recently changed from front to rear including Diffs, Transfer Case and Transmission. Last time I changed transmission fluid, added an extra capacity pan to the transmission with drain plug for future ease in fluid change, and not some cheap pan, cast aluminum so it looks sharp and will last a lifetime. Also installed a new Energy Suspension transmission mount to tame the power through this hulk of a drivetrain. Dual exhaust is tight and leak free, I recently had it “tuned up” by a professional exhaust shop to make sure all was perfect.

The truck has some of the best steering and handling you will find in one of these Squarebodys. The front end was completely rebuilt, including ball joints, tie rods, pitman, Steering box and pump (PSC) and Borgeson “jointed” steering shaft. Also added dual steering stabilizer to absorb the BFG 35” tires (includes matching full size spare) and a steering box brace from Off Road Design to strengthen front frame and prevent any issues down the road. Truck sits on 4" lift with heavy duty springs up front to handle the big block engine as well as winch and bumper. Heavy duty shackles with sway bar correction kit for improved handling with lift.

All modifications to this truck were done with the intention of retaining the factory look but improving the overall function. I have not chopped, modified or changed anything that could not be changed back to factory. This truck is show quality and has always been a garage queen. Never abused and always properly maintained. Please call with any and all questions before bidding. I know every square inch of this truck so please ask questions! Clean and clear title in hand. Patrick 425-495-1616
