1955 Chevrolet Belaire Description

Incoming BIG Medical bills force the sale of this recent build. It was an old gasser that had been in storage for many years. Previous owner bought it from a racer, and started on the car back in the early 1990's, planning to put it back on the street. He bought some necessary items, did some of the work, and lost interest, so there it sat in his garage, until he sold it to me early last year. This was a "Track Car", and had no heater, wipers, trim, seats, carpet, etc. It was stripped down for Racing! When I bought it, it was still wearing a 9.3 Olds rear, with an ancient set of MH Racemaster slicks, an Econoline drum brake front axle, with some 7.50 15 skinnies,on the front. Entire Wiring consisted of a toggle switch for the ignition, and a pushbutton for the starter.Solid original floors and trunk. I found 4-4" brazed in patche, in the floor,2 on each side of the car, which I assume were the result of someone removing a rollbar. Body was off the frame, and frame was prepped by the previous owner. I even have the old Towbar that bolts on the front!Car now runs and drives nicely, and is pure fun! Anyhow...here is what I have done, in no particular order: Speedway Motors Straight Axle w/GM Disc Brakes, purchased by the previous owner, back in 2002. New Competition Engnieering Drag shocks all around, Ladder Bars, Griffin Aluminum Radiator w/Lincoln Versailles fan,12v wiper conversion,New wiring harness, bumper to bumper,FRESH .030 over 454 Big Block Chevrolet,w/Speedpro Hyper U 10:1 popups,NEW Edelbrock Aluminum heads,Summit flat tappet cam, Dbl roller chain,Weiand Stealth Intake,Summit 750 carb,Patriot fenderwell headers,Taylor Wires,Hayes Street Rod Clutch, American Powertrain Hyd Clutch conversion (Silky Smooth action!, Vintage Lakewood Blowproof Bellhousing with "side mounts",(car now has 5 mounts...2 blockside mounts,2 on the bellhousing, and 1 on the transmission) Mini Starter, "0" Gage welding cable for battery leads, and grounds,Rebuilt 78 Corvette BW Super T10 w/ Hurst Comp Plus shifter, and Ramrod conversion, Shifts REALLY nice, and smooth, with a positive feel! All new brakes, lines, hoses, Booster, M/C etc, Rebuilt 57-64 Olds POSI (Limited Slip) rear w/3.08 ratio and Strange Eng Yoke, done by previous owners rear end guy, New Fuel tank and sender,1 pc FG tilt front end,New weatherstripping,New ACC Carpet, New Procar Bucket seats,,Hurst Line-Loc, Vintage Superior Steering Wheel in Gold Glitter, new glovebox cardboard, Summit Racing Oil and Temp gages,Summit Flat Hot Rod Gray paint....etc,etc...I probably forgot a few things as well. Lots of work done! The bad: Small stone chip in far Passenger side windshield.....A few little things left to do (no license plate light,(it's wired for it...I just never chose one to install!)1 loose interior door handle,(works, but wiggles a bit!) clicky self cancel turn signal switch...works as it should, it just makes a slight click sound sometimes when rotating the steering wheel.) The other issue is the fact that the trans was rebuilt for racing, and only after I installed it did I realize there is NO Speedo Drive gear in it! (tailshaft can be removed with trans in car to install one, should you choose) I use the Ulyssees app on my phone for that.I've put about 40-50 illegal miles on it, rolling around the rural roads here with no plates, and it is ready for it's new owner. Get you there, gets you home, smiling all the way. I'm going to miss this car. I put it together for ME, and have to sell it. I have spent more on this car than the opening bid.Located in NE Ohio along I-76 near Exit 11 Zip code 44281. NO TRADES, NO shipping unless you arrange it all, and prepay the shipper. I will make myself avavilable at pickup. Car must be paid for in full, and funds must clear my bank, before shipping or transferring the title. Clean, clear, transferrable Ohio Title in my name. Listed locally as well. If it sells that way I'll cancel bids and stop auction. Otherwise, I'm going to let it run for 7 days of Ebay Auction.Questions? Message me and I'll do the best I can to answer. Thanks for looking! Ron
