1955 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3800 1 ton 1st Series Suburban Panel 5 window Description

Here is my daily driver First Series 1955 Chevy panel truck (same as a 1954). It was originally a rural school bus and it was well maintained. It sat for about 40 years before I got it with about 46,xxx miles on it then I started the replace-rebuild process. I installed a Borg Warner T5 5 speed transmission and a Dana 60 rear end with 3.73 gears. Now it drives down the highway and can keep up with traffic. It still has the original 235 cid engine that runs really good. We took it on a 1000 mile trip to Chickasha, Oklahoma and it performed well. I have a clean Missouri title in my name for this truck and it is titled by the engine VIN number. I replaced many parts including:
New brake master cylinder, brake lines, wheel cylinders rear, brake shoes front & rear, brake hoses, wheel seals, emergency brake cables and 4 new tires. The truck starts, drives, steers, and stops great.
New fuel pump, fuel sending unit, fuel tank, aluminum radiator, radiator hoses, heater hoses, fan belt.
New windshield and windshield rubber, new front and rear door rubbers, new glove box, new carpet & pad, new 12 volt battery, new windshield wipers and arms, new door panels, new rear side signal lights.
New driveshaft and carrier bearing, new exhaust system. The original carburetor has been rebuilt. The original heater was refurbished and converted to 12 volt. All the gauges work and 12volt bulbs were installed. The valves have been adjusted, rod & main bearings have been checked and look to be in good condition. I cleaned the oil pan and replaced the oil pan gasket & valve cover gasket and painted the valve cover. Wheel bearings have been repacked or replaced where needed. The dash and doors were painted. New distributor cap, spark plugs, plug wires, points, condenser....probably more I can't think of now.
This is a really good old panel truck. It steers very easy. It has some dents, dings, and some rust. It is not perfect, but is an original body with original paint. The seat is out of an Astro van. Wipers work, turn signals work, lights all work except dome light. The panel side windows have been taped shut to prevent leaks. The vent windows have cracks.
I would be confident to go anywhere in this truck. It is a one ton with the capacity to haul a large load. The overdrive 5 speed provides good fuel economy.
