1968 Chevrolet Camaro Pro-Touring, Resto Mod Description

Hello, and Thank You for visiting my auction listing...
Up for sale, is a truly special and one of a kind, 1968 Camaro Pro-Touring Convertible. This dreamy, gem of a car was fully restored and modified only 15k miles ago (newly hand-built engine has less than 8kmls), to a "Pro-Touring" or "Resto-Mod" vehicle...currently the mostdesirable segment withtoday's new Classic Car Collectors...and their presence continues to dominate all of the Classic Car Auctions on TV...
Pro-Touring, or "Resto-Mod" have become so popular with buyers these days, due to their far superior reliability andhandling... Not to mention, all the modern conveniences andtechnologicaladvancements they possess...!!!
Whether you've driven a Pro-Touring car or not, I promise that you'll be in for a REAL treat when you drive THIS one!!!
This vehicle was developed and built by a professional builder, who also happens to have a degree in Mechanical Engineering!!! ...His precise skills and knowledge were applied to this build and that is what helped to make this car so uniquely modified, yet still TRACK, RUN, and DRIVE LIKE A NEW CAR!!!
The custom square tube frame connectors and Global West A-arms with Koni Shocks which were installed, stabilize so well and make this car handle like it's on RAILS!!!This '68 Camaro Convertible was on the COVER of CAR CRAFT MAGAZINE and placed in a segment for the coolest Pro-Touring vehicles of all time!!!
She cranks over immediately and without any effort... EVERY TIME!!!...Thispheonomenonis something that all current or previous Hot-Rod owners will really love and appreciate!! ...It's what drew my attention to this type of Classic Car in the 1st place... Ifinally gave up on repairing and adjusting my classic cars more than I was driving them!!!
I can happily say that I've NEVER broken down with this vehicle, EVER!! ...And only one flat tire, which I was able to change quickly using the included spare tire and jack set).
The Flowmaster exhaust system has that incredibly distinctive, melodious and throaty, growling, purr that WE ALL LOVE THE SOUND OF!!!Side pipes let others know when you're coming and they really clean up the look of the rear end.I especially love the sound they make when going through an underpass or tunnel...That sound can only come from a finely tuned, High Performance Machine!
When the engineaccelerates, it makes the unmistakeable sounds of a balanced and blueprinted, hand-built to specs motor !!!
A Hand-Built, Fuel Injected (with working Cowl Induction!!), 400 cubic inch (bored to 406ci), Chevy Small Block Engine (with less than 8k miles) with many roller parts, making 500+HP, is what powers this beast!!! ...I've neverdynoed her before, but the build specs for this engine claim over 500HP and 500+ Ft-Lbs of Torque at the crank. It's obvious that it's all there, once you step on the gas pedal!!!Power builds very quickly and smoothly...and just keeps on building...until you shift, or thegovernor kicks in, around 7200 RPM's... Now, what feels better thanall that consistent torque pull?!? ...Very few things!!!
6-Speed Manual Transmission throws shifts so smoothly and sweetly!!! ...Recently rebuilt (1,500 miles ago) to get the latest available Carbon Syncros installed!!! ...Feels like BRAND NEW!!!
This 1968 Camaro Convertible Pro-Touring Classic, also has an IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) which was transplanted from a C4 (4th gen. Chevrolet Corvette). It carries the rear disc brakes from the Corvette, with a Dana 44 and 3.73 gears... A set of Big BrakeWildwood, 6 Piston Caliper, Power Disc Brakes up front, with a Proportioning Valve as well, for perfect brake tuning!!!
So, you are currently looking at a 1968 Camaro with 4 wheelindependent suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes, as well!!! ...Chevrolet didn't even make an IRS option available on ANY Camaro, until they reinvented the model in 2010 (42 years later),when the 5thgen Camaro made it's first debut!!!
You will ALWAYS feel VERY COOL in THIS CAR! ...Even in the blazing summer heat, since it also has a FREEZING COLD "Vintage Air", Air Conditioning System installed, plus a Brand New, "Be Cool", Aluminum Racing Radiator (not shown in these pictures, but I will send newer engine bay pics uponrequest, to serious buyers...there's nothing else which is currently different from the images shown).
American Racing "Torquer II", Aluminum Mag Wheels with BF Goodrich Tires all around is what this '68 Camaro is now rolling on. They are in good condition, with one having some marks and scratches on it... The imperfect wheel can easily be repaired or replaced and I will give you a discount on your purchaseprice, for the cost of one replacement wheel at MSRP.
Grant Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel with Electronic Air Horn, too!
There are so many other items that I could list, which are included with the purchase of this vehicle, but I think I've mentioned mostly all of the important ones...
Please, feel free to contact me with any questions, but only if you are a serious buyer who is currently in the market to purchase a vehicle such as this and in this price range... I'm sorry, but I don't have any extra time to respond to questions that aren't "geared" toward the sale of this vehicle...I have kids!!!
Thank you for viewing!!!Best of Luck bidding!!!
PS. Buyers often ask the question, "why are you selling?". Unfortunately, I have limited space in my 2 car garage... We are expecting another vehicle very soon, so I need to clear the space for it... Also, I just happen to LOVE Motorcycles!!! Thanks and Best Wishes!!!
