1982 Chevrolet Blazer Description

I am selling my 1982 Chevrolet K5 Blazer with Silverado Trim. This is not a show vehicle nor has it been "restored". What it is isa very presentable and redone/refinishedabove average driver. I get comments on it every time that we are out of the garage and running errands around town. I originally bought this Blazer from the second owner with the idea of making itmy reliable, run to the lake fishing vehicle. Now, due to recent events in my life I have decided that it is time to sell. The Blazer is very original, never modified or lifted. The interior is no longer the originalLight Saddle color as it wasworn and dirty. I have owned this Blazer for 14 months andevery thingthat I have done to make the Blazer reliable and funto drive was completed during that time.Just so you know, this will be a detailed and long listing so that you will have a better idea of what you are bidding on. Please take the time to read it before you make the decision to bid. I did notice that some of the pictures on my listing that the Blazer looks like a red/maroon color. The actual color looks like a burnt orange and you will see this color, the correct color, in some of the pictures.

I do believe that the mileage,(103,676),on the Blazer is original and that the odometer has not flipped over. I had the original, never opened Quadrajet carburetor rebuilt. I do not think that the carburetor would have made it to 203,000 miles or 303,000 miles. After the rebuild the carburetor was installed and after 500 miles readjusted and fine tuned. It works amazingly well.

The following is a list of all that I have done to make this Blazer a reliable, daily driver:

Tires/Brakes: Both tires and brakes have approximately 3400 miles on them. The tires still look great with plenty of tread. The brakes are near new and show minimal signs of wear. The brakes have been flushed and have new fluid. This Blazer stops straight and will stop on a dime. All new lug nuts and center cap bolts on wheels. The beauty rings are original.

Engine/Transmission/Differentials: The 305 V-8 engine received a new and complete tune up. The pan gasket was replaced on the engine as well as the fuel pump. The engine burns no oil and has no blow by. Vacuum lines were replaced, radiator cap was replaced, if it leaked it was repaired or replaced. I replaced the cruise control transducer and it works as it should. Every thing under the hood works as it should and the engine compartment looks like original. The complete jack is mounted on the passenger side inner fender. The windshield washer pump was rebuilt and the washer fluid bottle is new, original GM. The radiator was flushed and refilled and the last oil change was approximately 500 miles ago. The AC has R134 installed and it will blow ice cubes out of the vents. The heater works great too. Every thing under the hood is inoriginal condition. The 350-C transmission has been flushed, cleaned, adjustedand has had new fluid installed. The transmission has a mild shift kit and a new vacuum modulator. It shifts like it should and is not harsh. The differentials, 3:41 axle ratios, and transfer case were flushed and have new fluids also. The exhaust is new from the catalytic converter back. It is a onein two outtype and has a low rumble too it. Nothing obnoxious or loud.

Suspension/Under Carriage: I installed 4 new KYB Excel-G has shocks and a Moog steering stabilizer shock. Great ride on a good road with no wandering. I greased all of the fittings on the suspension and the components that had the fittings to do so. The under carriage shows no signs of rust. It has been painted black in color by the previous owner. I am not sure what was used but it has held up well. I do not think that this Blazer was ever off road or had abusive useif it was as there are no dents or bends on the under carriage or the components there.

Electrical: All electrical wiring is original and has not been cut or tapped into. The head lights are GE Halogen. The side markers and tail light covers are new. The license plate light cover is new also. I replaced every bulb on this Blazer with a new one and that even included the dash bulbs and dome lights. Every thing that is electrical on this Blazer works! That means every dash gauge, wipers, radio, clock, lighter, you name it and if it is electrical it works. I used to be an electrician by trade and so IT has to work or I am not happy!

Exterior/Paint: The Light Bronze Metallic paint was resprayed 3 months ago. The body did have a few chips and scrapes in the paint. The paint is not show quality, it does have light "orange peel" in spotsbut this can be color sanded. I do not know how to do this. I would give the Bronze color a 8 and a 9.5 after color sanding. I do not know how old the white paint is. There are touched up chips between the wheels on both sides that were touched up by the previous owner. You have to look to see them but they are there and not very noticeable. The inside of the tailgate has been sprayed with Rhino Liner. Not hiding any rust, just wanted a more durable surface other than paint on the tailgate. The door jams, inner doors and tailgate inner edges are still original matching paint. If you want them repainted it would not be expensive to do so. The front bumber guards and rear top air dam are original GM accessories. The bumpers are not dented, still shine but do have very light scratches or polish marks. I also have the front lower air dam and if you would like it to be installed using the original bolts I can do that for you.

Glass: All glass is good! The front windshield and rear tail gate window are new, the other windows are original. No cracks or scratches. The removable top glass looks great too! The door glass regulators have been cleaned and greased with new switches installed. The windows work like they should. The rear glass manual crank handle regulator has been cleaned and greased. Very easy to go up and down. And the wipers are chrome from a 1972 C-10.

Let's take a break, I know this is long but please read on.

Interior: This past Winter I decided to replace the Light Saddle Interior. The Blazer has new, plush cut black carpet and new Dark Saddle original style seat covers. All 3 seats were repadded. Since the front seats were apart I went ahead and added a seat heating kit to both seats. That's right, the front seats are now HEATED and the dual controls installed on the center console look factory! The bottom and backs of the seats are now pleasantly warm, even in the Winter, I also installed 2 USB ports and a power port on the front of the console to keep the cell phone charged. The dash pad is new. It is not a cover. The dash bezel and matching trim pieces have been hydrographically dipped and look like carbon fiber with the Bronze color. Looks better than the factory silver. The door panels and cab trim have been painted with SEM Cordoba Brown and have held up well. I did this because the reproduced replacement pieces do not fit well. The doors have new switches andnew inner door handles too. The vent wing handles are new. Dome lights are new as are the seat belts. The old seatbelts were very dry and I did not trust them. The spare tire mounts to it's original carrier. It is a MasterCraft on a rallye wheel and the tire has never seen the ground. New gas and brake peddle pads and I still have the originals. The originals did not look to be very worn. And finally, all gauges work and are accurate. The speedometer does not bounce as I cleaned and oiled the cables. All vent deflectors are new and stay where you put them. The door sill plates and the steering wheel are new.

Well, it looks like you made it to here if you are still reading. I may have missed a detail or two and if I did and remember it I will add it to the listing. I have tried to describe my Blazer so that you will know what you are bidding on. I really think that you can drive this Blazer any where as I would let my Grand Daughter drive itand know that it would not let her down. Overall, this is a good looking, very capable Blazer that will get you comments every where that you go. I can't count the number of cell phones that have taken a picture of it. The Blazer comeswith 3 keys, one door, one ignition, and one locking gas cap. I also will include the original Owner's Manual, a 1982Blazer Dealership Brochure, a 1982 Blazer Dealer Post Card and a repair manual. If you have any questions please E-mail me or call 405-248-6400. I will be happy to answer all of your questions.

This Blazer is being sold as is/where is with no warranties either expressed or implied. The vehicle is listed for sale locally and I have the right to end the listing within EBay's guidelines.
