DESCRIPTION

If you follow me on eBay, you know it is no secret that I just LOVE Pro Street cars! The look is just mean, and there is nothing more fun than cruising into a show full of stockers in a brutal, ground-shaking blown machine that has people running for the lawn chairs!
This particular Nova is super clean, incredibly well done car from front to back, and no expense was spared in making sure it had the best components to provide reliable power and performance with minimal wrenching required.
The first thing to mention is the motor on this machine. BIG AL’s TOYBOX supplied the engine on this thing, and it is a monster! Specs are:

It sends the power to a PRI Racing Turbo 350 transmission with reverse manual valve body and HD clutches and gear packs that is rated for 650hp.
A custom made and balanced driveshaft sends everything back to a CURRIE 12-bolt with polished STRANGE 3.55 gears and axles, a Detroit Locker, and a gorgeous full billet show polished cover.
Shifting is handled by a B&M Pro ratchet.
Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes are two-piece units for maximum efficiency and minimum weight, and they are fed by a Wilwood master cylinder under the hood.
TCI supplied the full manual rack and front system, with tubular A-Arms and Strange Engineering coil-overs, and rear suspension is handled by another set of Strange Engineering coil-overs.
The entire frame is 2x3 box fabricated for the car, with a complete front to rear roll cage implemented into it.
A stainless fuel tank with vent line sends gas to a frame fuel filter and hi-flow pump.
Inside the trunk is where you find the fuel tank beside the custom built battery box with gauge and outside master cut-off switch.
Trunk is carpet lined for clean looks.
Inside, the car has a full interior with real door panels, kick panels, side panels, and a full headliner. All are in good condition, along with the carpeting and rear lining. It is all in good condition, and shows very well.
Balk half section of car has been covered in a medium grade automotive carpeting for a finished look, and the majority of the full roll cage has been padded for safety.
Dual racing seats are in very good condition, and are equipped with M&R racing harnesses. They have fore and aft adjustability, recline, and tilt forward too.
Dome light works, glove box is intact and functional, and the dash isn’t all chopped up or anything.
Center dash is a master control panel with main on/off, push button start button, battery on indicator, and switches for the water pump and auxiliary cooling fans.
Below that is the 12V outlet with cigar lighter, original ashtray, and tri-pack of gauges including fluid filled oil pressure and water temp and a fuel pressure gauge.
To the right of that is the Tachometer.
Up on top of the dash is the boost gauge and the shift light.
The stock gauge pod has been replaced with a clean digital display that holds gauges for fuel level percentage, battery volts, and a digital speedometer which does not have a cable at this time.
An IDIDIT polished column with matching drop provides tilt steering, a clean look, and billet arms for the signals and tilt function. It is topped by a clean chrome 3 spoke wheel with black rim and chrome horn button.
The B&M Pro Ratchet works perfectly, and has a nice heavy-duty plate for installation for when you are jamming through the gears. The handle has the button intact for the line-loc, and all of the items for it seem to be intact, but it is not functional at this time.
Fire extinguisher is chrome and in its own bracket.
Heavy rubber floor mats with the Chevrolet logo are included and protect the carpet well.
Front windows roll up and down with ease on recent regulators, felts, and tracks, and the back ones do too, but you need to manually remove the handle and put it back on each turn to clear the roll cage to do it.
All the glass is clean and good, and the weather stripping all around the car is soft, clean, and pliable rubber.
Chrome and bright work on the outside of the car is in very nice condition, with only a few little minor areas of patina and aging. Again, look at the 85 photos of the car, and you will see that all of it shows extremely well.
All of the lights, wipers, and other items work as they should, and the car has passed a safety check with no issues to address.
Monster Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R tires are wrapped around show polished 5-star drag wheels in the back, with 10 spoke polished carriage wheels up front surrounded in new radial rubber.
The body on the car is clean, straight and solid, and shows really well with only minor blemishes to mention.
I have taken a 4x4 magnet over the entire car, and it sticks to steel all around.
The gaps are good, but not ISCA Show Car good, so don’t go crazy if something is 3mm off when it shows up in your driveway!
Panel fit overall is very good, and everything opens and closes like it should without any problems.
The paint on the car is a very killer custom panel job, and transitions from Concorde to tangerine and silver with a design that makes it look fast just standing still!
Paint is glossy, slick, and wet looking, and has just a handful or two minor blemishes to show for its time on the road, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance of the car.
This NOVA starts right up with a push of the button, and has a clean, mildly lopey idle that doesn’t stutter or stumble at all.
The custom exhaust system sounds AMAZING, with a nice healthy burble and bark, but enough suppression to keep the neighbors from calling the police every night.
Snick it into gear hold on, because when you whack that throttle, this machine WILL put you into the seat back with gusto.
Power comes on smooth and clean, and the car sets its butt down squarely and cleanly on launch to provide a straight path to victory for you.
Shifts are sure and strong in each gear, and the car won’t let up until you do after you launch it.
The engine runs cool thanks to the massive fan, re-cored stock looking radiator, and the high-flow water pump. It normally sits about 180 when cruising it in town, but has crept up to 200 while stuck in traffic at the beach. Start moving and it comes back down again, and I haven’t seen it go past 205 in all the miles and time I have spent in it.
The car has been professionally re-wired and you can see from the photos that great pains were taken to insure a cleanly done engine bay wiring job too.
The car tracks straight and has only a slight pull to the right. With all new suspension components, bushings, etc., on the car, it makes me think an alignment would cure it, but we don’t have an alignment shop around us anymore that can do classic cars. Like everything else, if they can’t pull it up on a computer, they can’t do it. It is not bad or problematic, but I mention it because the rest of the car rides and performs so well, it really is the only thing to cover that’s negative.
The prior owner/builder of the car reported passes at 10.75 /130’s in the ¼ mile, and taking into consideration the gearing, HP rating, and a good old fashioned guesstimate after doing the math, it sure seems achievable. It wasn’t run on the track often, and has been primarily a Sunday show car for the past few years.
I have personally driven the car on multiple occasions both in town, and longer distance. I find it to be a BLAST to cruise in!
Using a GPS speedo and watching the RPM level revealed that 60 MPH puts you at about 2,750 rpm with the current gearing. 70 is 3150, and the car isn’t doing anything odd at that speed.
It is an awesome in-town cruiser, and has proven to be an easy-mannered highway car too. Anything over 75mph for extended periods (Power Tour, etc.) and I would advise a gear change.
Can’t think of much more to tell you. It comes with a folder of information, receipts, and documents that go with it, two keys, and is ready to show or go right now.
