1969 Chevrolet Camaro -- Description

1969 Chevrolet Camaro - Resto Mod No Expense Spared Fuel Injected LS V8 Stunning Custom Interior (by Riddler Award-Winner) Excellent Custom Body Work (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are not presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) Garage Kept Motors... is pleased offer this stunning '69 Camaro for consideration. Our client, a local West Michigan man, had a dream to build a custom 1969 Camaro since he was young. He sourced the car from California (we still have the California title) as a former salts flats race car, ensuring he was starting with a rust-free vehicle. The Camaro you see today was a lengthy exercise in creating a jaw-dropping, show-stopping car. As we walk around the car to become familiar with it, we notice more and more small details that have been added, or in some cases, deleted from the original GM design. It is obvious just by a glance at the car a lot of time and energy was put into the build of the car, and it was by no means built with a budget in mind. The custom interior has a quality, luxury feel and was designed and built by Bob Fender's Fine Line Design of Clakston, MI, a Riddler Award interior builder. Tens of thousands of dollars were spent on the interior and the resulting product is just gorgeous. A custom center console was built and installed to house a B&M Shifter, power window switches, and AirRide suspension controls. The center console extends from the dashboard to the backseat creating a true 2+2 seating arrangement. The combination of this arrangement, and supportive bucket seats give a high-end, luxury touring car feel to the interior.  Vintage Air controls, and AutoMeter gauges are mounted in a body colored dash insert along with a Clarion stereo head unit. The rest of the dashboard has been smoothed, covered in leather, and finished with custom stitching. Custom door panels have an excellent fit and finish, and even the headliner has custom touches.    The exterior has been changed in more ways than meets the eye at first glance.  First, looking at the front of the car we see updated RS headlight doors which hide LED headlights, and the front bumper and lower front spoiler have been painted to match the rest of the car. Other less obvious changes include a number of items that have been deleted: front cowl vents, marker lights, drip rails, and metal trim at the base of the windshield. Sleek custom mirrors have been added that blend very well with the car.  In the rear of the car, the tail light recess/panel has been smoothed, reverse lights have been deleted, and the bumper has been painted black giving the rear of the car a very clean, simple look. After hours and hours were spent smoothing the body and deleting a number of details, beautiful black paint was applied by Ron Sall Body Werx, once of the best painters we know. Once the body was wearing the black paint, the finishing touch was painting the stripes in Kandy Apple Red Metallic with a Gold Metallic basecoat.  The engine and underside of the car are just as clean as the topside. A fuel injected LS1 V8 was installed beneath the cowled hood. Trim and ancillary parts have either been painted to match the exterior, or have been polished.  Other items of note in the engine bay are BeCool Electric Fan and Radiator, Baer brake fluid reservoir, Vintage Air compressor and polished drier, Taylor spark plug wires, TruTrac Serp belt system, coated headers.  As part of the hours and hours of body work that was done on this car, a significant amount of time was spent in the engine bay filling holes, deleting brackets and smoothing the firewall. The attention to detail and use of quality parts was continued in the engine bay, the suspension, and the chassis. Large Baer disc brakes and calipers are visible between the spokes of all four Schott wheels. The 18" wheels are a mammoth 12" wide in the rear.  The 12" wide wheels fit under the car thanks to mini-tubbed rear fenders. This Camaro sits at just the right height thanks to tubular upper and lower control arms and RideTech coilovers. (The AirRide suspension that was under the car before can be re-installed easily if desired) A Ford 9" rear end with 3.89 gears, narrow axles, and custom axle shafts is mounted next to the stainless steel, narrowed gas tank. Polished Flowmaster mufflers are found beneath the car with side-exit letterbox exhaust tips mounted just before the rear axle. You cannot build this car for the price tag here, especially not to this quality. Our client has already done all the hard work - it just needs a new garage to call home. Only 10 miles have been recorded since finished. Thanks to all the details, and finish of this car it's hard to take your eyes off it.  We took our eyes off it long enough to write this description. Now that the description is done, if you need us we'll be in the showroom staring at this gorgeous Camaro.  Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors.
