1986 Chevrolet Other Pickups Description

1986 El Camino restored as Super Sport with Monte Carlo front end, black with red/gray pinstripes, 305 engine, automatic transmission, cruise, AC, power locks/windows, Rhino liner, pristine gray interior including dash cover and floor mat. The title is clean and clear, no liens.

The car belonged to a lifelong friend who bought it online a few months before he died in late 2016. I bought the car from his dad in July 2017 for sentimental reasons. A friend of my friend's that helped him do maintenance work on the car told me that it already had been restored when he bought it. My friend replaced the steering wheel and either fixed or added cruise control, which works. He had not installed a horn, so that needs to be done. He also bought new Firestone tires and had the Rhino liner installed, and I have receipts for both. There are two car manuals. One is pretty faded on the front, and the other one is in very good condition.

There is a gap on the driver side where the front end was attached. (See last photo.) There is no lighter in the dash. There is a hole where that should be. I only have ignition keys. My friend's father forgot to give me the door keys, and I didn't know to ask. I found that out the hard way! I locked myself out the same day I drove it home. I called him about it, and he found them but passed away before I could get the keys. Unfortunately, his other son didn't realize the keys were to the El Camino and threw them away.

The car drives really well and rides smoothly. There are no mechanical issues. The engine is not original to the car and has less than 21,000 miles on it. I have put less than 1200 miles on it in the last two years. Power windows & locks all work. The AC works, even the vent under the steering wheel. The heat & defroster work, too. I use synthetic oil and non-ethanol gas. I replaced the battery last year and have the receipt. The tailgate latch works just fine. The Pioneer radio/CD player was purchased and installed in the spring of 2017. I have a factory-sealed box with a label for Gabriel Hijackers Air Adjustable Shock Absorbers 49334 in black that was shipped to Auto Zone by Fed Ex on October 4, 2016 according to the shipping label still on the box.

The car has been kept in a garage since I bought it. I have taken it to a couple of car shows and get positive comments almost every time I drive the car. More than one person has said that the car is beautiful, and I agree. My friend bought this car to be his daily driver, and I hope someone looking at this listing wants to do that, too. This car deserves to be driven and appreciated.
