1969 Camaro Z/28 Rust Free Project Car, 12-bolt, High-End Paint Job, Beautiful!
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Description
Here's a great project car for sale, a 1969 Camaro Z/28. I bought this car as a rolling chassis which was not much more than a shell. I've slowly started from the ground up with the restoration. She has the 12-bolt rear, BV code (4.10 gears), with posi. The differential was rebuilt by Austin Drivetrain and she was upgraded with Moser Axles and the larger 1350 pinion yoke. Sub-Frame connectors from Competition Engineering have also been installed. She has new leafs (four-leaf spring) and new coils from Eaton Detroit Spring (the best!). The springs were ordered for factory height. She also has new rotors from AC Delco and new wheel bearings, etc. Motor mounts (frame mounts) were cleaned up and installed.
The Camaro is equipped with Cal-Tracs from Calvert Engineering, part number 2301. (The connecting bars will be shipped with the car. I left them off while the car was at the paint shop)
New Moog ball joints have been installed as have new polyurethane A-Arm bushings from Energy Suspension. A one-inch sway bar is installed (with new bushings) as well as new stainless fuel and brake lines (the long tubes have to be installed prior body assembly).
The sub-frame was taken down to bare-metal then shot with black epoxy primer then top-coated with chassis black.
The door hinges were completely rebuilt with new bushings.
The wheels and tires are nothing but rollers.
The under-carriage has been meticulously cleaned and detailed then painted chassis black. The car looks fantastic from underneath. The original floors pans are all rust free. The trunk pan is very solid as well.
The body was taken down to bare sheet-metal, then sealed, primed and painted by Muscle Cars of Austin (paint & body cost $14,000) in the original color of Daytona Yellow and the paint job looks fantastic! Some of the photos above make the yellow look a bit dark but the yellow is a spot-on "Daytona Yellow". The body gaps on this car are tight and even.
I hate like heck to give up on this car but I simply haven't the time to finish this project, hence the low starting point for this auction. The car was being built with the best parts and great craftsmanship and the next owner will have a fantastic start to a wonderful project car. Who knows what this beauty will be worth once finished.
I don't have any spare parts for this car. What you see in the photos is what's included in this sale. (Again, the Cal-Tracs bars will be included).
Yes, she has a good clean Texas title.
Please note my 100% eBay rating. Winner of this auction will be very pleased with his/her purchase. $2000 deposit will be expected within 48 hours of purchase. Buyer will be responsible for transport. I'll make the car available as needed.
Good luck!
