1950 Chevrolet Deluxe Convertible ORIGINAL NICE Hot Rod Classic Custom Led Sled
1950 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Deluxe Description
1950 Chevrolet Convertible, RARE, RARE, RARE... 70,xxx Mile Mostly Original, car has been NEVER MESSEDWith.
I have way too many projects and not enough room, and not enough time....soI'm going to sell one of my favorite cars, SORRY BUT... NO TRADES, AND I DON'T NEED ANY HELP SELLING IT!
All original RARE 1950 Chevrolet Deluxe Convertible, Runs, Shifts, Stops, Drives PERFECT! I just took it to the GoodGuys Show in Des Monies... Drove it around the grounds, and the town. This car runs and drive like it did when it was brand new.... couldn't ask for a nicer car.
I bought the car from an 84 year old man who owned it for over 27 years. I was told the car is all Original, paint, engine, transmission, interior even the top boot. The top has been replaced with a high quality black canvas, with all of the original style padding inside and rear glass window. The top hydraulics work perfect, and the top goes up and down like it should.
The car runs and drives outstanding... you can't even here the original 216 run at an idle. Shifts so smooth it'sunbelievable. The engine holds great oil pressure and even in hot bumper to bumper 100 degree weather it cruises (like GoodGuys at the fair grounds) and stays cool as acucumber. The car stop as it should with NO ISSUES. The car actually is one of thetorquiest 216 I've ever drove... I will pull away from a dead stop in second gear just as smooth as is if it's in 1st gear.
The car is just a SUPER NICE, and CLASSY ORIGINAL car that has never been messed up... Thegentleman told methe car is an original paint car... it does have a few small places where the red primer is wearing through, and the paint has some of thecharacteristics of oldlacquer paint, no checking but a fewblotches here and there. I will NOTguarantee this as an original paint car, I'm just telling you what the man who owned it for 27 yearstold me... but with that being said the car is not andhas never been a rusty car! The car is rock solid through out inside, and outside.
I've drove the car around and it performs as it should with no issues what so ever.
It's Very rare you see original Chevy convertibles around don't get me wrong, I love customs... but this one looks and acts just like it did when it was on the showroom floor in 1950. It does have the accessory fog lights, back up light, tissue holder and extra chrome like gravel guards, gas tank door chrome, big bumper guards, and extensions, turn signals, fender skirts and wide whites. This car would make an excellent addition to any collection, or a perfect car for that first time classic car enthusiast.
With everything being said the car runs, stops and drives like a 1950 car, it's not a new Cadillac.
The engine and transmission is original, I've never taken it on a long drive, just small jaunts, but I will say that the way it runs I wouldn't be scared to take it on a long trip. As I said everything works as it should, all the gauges, lights, turn signals etc...
The Good Stuff...
The floors, trunk and frame on the car are nice, there are no patches, and NO RUST.
The trunk shock mounts and trunk floor is very solid. ALSO front fenders doors, hood, trunk lid and quarters are very, very solid with no rust. The top goes up and down perfectly, and the doors open and close like a new car.all of the glass is perfect no bubbles, cloudy edges, the window roll up and down perfect. all of the fuzzies and rubber is like new.The car is Very complete... nothing that I know of is missing... which means no looking for parts!
The car does not leak anything on the floor... it's dry as a bone where it sits.Chrome is all nice, bright and crisp.New Brakes.Newalcohol fuel pump, so it runs fine on new style gas.
The Bad Stuff...
The car does have 69 year old paint, so it's not perfect but it's VERY, VERY NICE.There are some wear spots in the paint in a few different places but not real noticeable. There are some bubbles on the front fender, I don't believe that they are rust, I just think it is something with the paint? The radio does not work.
This car not a rust bucket or has it ever been a rust bucket like a lot of these cars can be, it is just a nice old car that has been in proper dry storage all of it's life.
This car is straight and VERY solid, the body sheet metal seems to be good, except for the few little spots I mentioned.
This isn't the kind of car you see everyday, with that being said it's not a cheap car, It's not stupid priced and it's a SUPER nice car... I don't want to sound arrogant but it a SUPER COOL CAR... and cool ain't cheap, and cheap ain't cool... lol if you know what I mean.
There was one on here JUST LIKE THIS ONE for $69,000... this one is less than half the price of that one... so I think I'm being realistic on my price, and I would say this car is as nice, or nicer since it hasn't been messed with.
