Located in north Glendale, AZ. (suburb of Phoenix)
VIN 1GCDC14H3GS111946
Clean “A” Arizona title
2-wheel drive, 117.5” wheelbase Short Bed
Odometer reads 34,750+ miles as of today, so it has likely rolled over at least once, unknown to me if any more.
305 5.0L V-8 engine (no leaks or spots on the driveway)
4-bbl Rochester QuadraJet carburetor
3.73 Ring & Pinion rear end gears with Posi-Traction locking differential, so this truck can do 2-wheel burnouts at will, anytime. Accelerates quick! This truck is SO MUCH FUN to drive!
4-speed Automatic Overdrive 700R4 transmission up shifts and downshifts with no problems, which has been rebuilt since new. No leaks or spots on the driveway.
Front sway bar, factory option
Arizona truck, no cancerous rust! No holes or surprises, no salt/snow damage.
If you are interested in this very clean truck, it can be test-driven, and is ready to drive anywhere. I’d drive it long distance without hesitation. Very fun to drive on open road, or even in the fast lane during rush hour. I was going to turn it into my next project and give it a full paint job but am overwhelmed with too many other things going on that came up. This option loaded truck would be a great hot rod, resto-mod or farm cruiser for the GM Bowtie Pickup enthusiast. This pickup gets “2 Thumbs-Up” and turns heads all the time in Phoenix area.
This truck body is NOT laser-straight but is a great candidate for a full restoration paint job or leave it alone and enjoy as-is. This is the perfect pickup to park in any lot and not worry about scratches, dents, bird droppings, or where you park it in public. I can tell this exterior body has been repainted one time, and has some imperfections, showing some character.
Paint job shows a cool patina. Minor dents here and there along body, as most of these trucks have that problem over time. Still looks great considering today’s desired style.
I purchased this from a local airplane pilot in Phoenix, Arizona, who took very good care of this pickup.
Non-smoker, never smoked cigarettes inside, ashtray unused. Lighter works!
Starts easily regardless of how hot or cold it is.
Under the hood is super clean, stock and great shape!
Runs smooth and reliable.
85 MPH on the freeway in the fast lane is a pleasure to drive.
Drives fantastic with minimal play in the steering.
Front brakes (Heavy Duty 1.25” thick disk) and rear factory drum brakes work as they should.
255/40/20 tires (28” x 10”) front Continental brand, born on date is late 2016, about 60% tread left.
295/35/20 tires (28” x 11.6”) rear Continental brand, born on date is early 2017, about 90% tread left.
Ridler 605 20” wheel set, no scratches or visible damage.
**I also have a full set of the original rally style factory OEM wheels with center caps, beauty rings and Cooper tires with raised white letters for additional $600, separate transaction**
Clean interior
Column shift
Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control, works fantastic, Electronic Speed Control
Power steering
Power windows
Power door locks
Quartz electric clock
Headlights, all turn signals/hazards, heater, horn, tachometer and cigarette lighter work.
Wipers and washers work, but slow (no high-speed wipers, aftermarket motor). I will include an additional new set of wipers still in original packaging with washer hoses.
Alpine (CD Receiver-type) CDA-9883 MP3 detachable face plate stereo (flip-down console) deck that is supposed to be Bluetooth-ready, although I haven’t tried it. A CD can be enjoyed by flipping the face down, inserting the disc, and putting face back up. 6 preset radio channels. System has speaker in top of dash (no holes cut in doors or any other panel). Also, OEM style speakers in cab corners behind seats.
Interior has nice sun visors, arm rests, door pockets, no trim or anything missing.
Headliner is in VERY nice shape, along with upholstery covering all of the plastic that surrounds the headliner, a special detail that sets this truck’s interior apart from others! Rather than the textured plastic being exposed, this material is soft and easy to clean.
1989 OEM Suburban adjustable recline and sliding forward/back seats, along with center console featuring cup holders, matching color. All in working order.
Tinted Glass in rear and sides.
Battery is fairly new, see photo.
Rear step bumper, aftermarket 8,000 lbs. rating with 2” towing hitch ball.
Equipped with trailer towing light harness.
Spare tire included in factory location.
Lowering - Rear: 2” drop shackles, removed one leaf spring and overload spring.
Front: 2” McGaughy’s 73-87 drop springs
You could lower this truck some more, change wheels & tires to really personalize it and suit your taste.
Still has 2 factory original gas tanks that can be switched on the fly if one runs out of fuel.
Bed: The inside of the bed is super straight. If you were to repaint or spray a bedliner, it would be with minimal effort, as far as looking nice & straight. Never has had a camper shell installed, no extra holes drilled into bed at all.
Some weather stripping & rubber was replaced over the years, yet windows roll up and down without a problem. The wing windows have small air leaks, so some air noise will increase with higher speeds.
