I really hate to have to sell this car, but I’m planning on going back to school in the fall and don’t want to have to take out loans to finance my education. That being said, what you are looking at is the car that Chevrolet should have built when they built the Monte Carlo SS. This car has had quite a bit of upgrades done to it that retain it's stock looking appearance, but a lot of today’s modern amenities. The original paint is in good to very good condition and the original gray interior is excellent with no rips or tears in the upholstery or dash. The frame and underside of the car are all solid. One neat thing about this car is the original documentation it comes with. It has receipts and information from the first gentleman who bought this car back on 1/20/1986. Some of the work that was done to this car includes the following:
The old engine had only about 73,000 original miles on it, but wasn’t sealing correctly so rather than a rebuild, a new GM 350 cubic inch crate engine was dropped in and mated with Edelbrock’s Pro Flow 3 EFI system for fuel delivery. I've been so busy working and studying the new engine has less than 1,000 miles on it. The EFI system can be tuned very easily via wireless technology with the download of an app to your phone or tablet. The EFI upgrade also necessitated an upgrade to the fuel system with a Tanks, Inc. EFI ready fuel tank. These tanks are made of galvanized steel and powder coated silver. It has a Walbro in-tank fuel pump. The fuel lines are PTFE lined (Teflon) to handle the pressure from the EFI system and to prevent deterioration from today’s ethanol gas. The exhaust flows thru Edelbrock TES headers that have been ceramic coated by a local shop. The exhaust continues through a high flow catalytic converter with 2.5” exhaust with Flowmaster Delta Flow 55 mufflers that give off a real nice sound. The engine bay has also been updated with a new Sanden A/C compressor (the A/C works), Dakota Digital cruise control unit so the cruise still works, and a Spectre dual snorkel cold air induction air cleaner. The original 200-4r automatic transmission was upgraded with a shift kit for nice crisp shifting. With the upgrades to the power, the brakes were upgraded as well. The front discs were upgraded from the single piston to a dual piston setup with a thicker rotor and larger diameter that still fits inside the stock wheel. The rear brakes were upgraded from the old drums to a Scarebird Classic Brakes setup that runs disc brakes there too. A new proportioning valve was added to accommodate the rear discs. All work was professionally done by a local shop (One Off Rod and Custom) that has won multiple awards, been published in the top leading hot rod magazines, been filmed on PowerNation, and has brought home the prestigious Ridler Great 8 Finalist Award. An approximately 1” stack of receipts for all work done will come with the car. Don’t miss this true gem. The car has an aftermarket radio that was previously installed in the vehicle and does work. I do not have the original engine or original radio. The car will come with the original air cleaner. The car has a clean title. All power options, switches, and gauges work in the car. The only thing that doesn’t seem to work is the remote trunk access located in the glove box. Please ask any questions that you may have.
