1990 Chevrolet Corvette Description

1990 CORVETTE

This car is in really great condition for its age an mileage. Over the course of me owning this car, I have replaced a number of things:- EGR Valve- KYB Shock Absorbers- New Tires (99% road life left)- Cherry Bomb Glasspack Exhaust- Antenna Mast- New fuel Injectors- New Spark plugs with Iridium tipped plugs- Rear Wheel Bearings replaced with MOOG high performance bearings- Spark plug wires- Distributor cap and rotor- IAC (Idle Air Control Valve)- Air intake and throttle body gaskets replaced with new fel-pro gaskets.- Battery (1 year old)- New windshield ( it had been hit by a rock on freeway)- Rims Balanced- Wheels professionally aligned- New thermostat- 2 out of 3 catalytic converters replaced
A few things that the car still needs:
- Needs New water pump ( I have the part, and might install later depending on how the bidding goes)- Needs New Window motor for the passenger window. (Part included, the window works intermittently)- Needs New thermostat Housing ( the housing drips a small amount of coolant because it has pockets from years of use. I will include the new part)- In needs the Airbag sensors to be cleaned and re-attatched. This causes the (INFL-REST) light and the Seat Belt warning light to come on. This is the #1 most common issue with C4 Corvettes and is really easy to fix. Look up on Google!!
Engine work:now don't get me wrong, this car is beautiful, turns heads wherever you go, and starts right up and drives great.over the time I have owned it, it has developed a small misfire. I have done some reading and diagnosing and figured out the issue. Inside the passenger side cylinder head, one of the valves must not be fully sealing all the way. This allows engine oil to very slowly leak into one of the cylinders. when you go to start the vehicle, the engine immediately burns up this oil, but when doing so it leaves a black residue on the spark plug for that cylinder. Eventually the spark plug becomes completely covered with black residue and stops working causing the misfire. There is a fix for it, but requires you to take both heads off of the engine block and have them completely resurfaced, with new valves, valve springs, valve guides, and valve seals. And then of course replacing that one spark plug that has been fouled. I received a quote from a local cylinder head repair place. they said to do both it would cost around $500. Other than that issue there is nothing else wrong with this vehicle. If you have any other questions feel free to message me!!!
