1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Description


Running 55 year old corvair with a new top, red interior in great shape, low miles (38K), solid body - all original parts except for the rag top. Only a few small surface rust spots and could use a good buffing to get the yellow color to pop.
Doors and hood close perfectly and tight. tires are newer.
Engine is a bit dirty and with a slight oil smell.There is a gas tank leak where the float enters the tank - I purchased a new tank ring that needs to be installed.
Also needs some cosmetic repair to the dashboard and under the dashboard glove box. Could also use a new muffler. No spare tire.
Eligibleto be licensed as a collector car in Wisconsin.

I received an inquiry from an ebayer asking for the tag information in order to verify the specs. I found that not all parts are original however may still be acceptable or may be better depending upon what you like. Here is what he reported:
I ran the tag through the decoder and found out all the info, very interesting. 03B=Built 2nd week of march, 1964. 64 0967= 1964 Monza 2dr convertible. WR= built at Willow Run, Michigan plant. 16105= build sequence, #16,105 0f around 31,000 that year. 727-1 = Interior was Ivory vinyl and a white top....( may explain the Ivory seat belts) 900= Tuxedo black exterior paint originally. W2L3C5W = Accessories, tinted windshield, 4 speed manual transmission, padded dash, and deluxe seat belts,
