1966 Chevrolet Corvette Description
Below you can view a video test drive.
This 1966 Small Block 327 Cu. In. California Corvette Sting Ray Coupe was originally delivered to Robert Hall Chevrolet in Tujunga, California near Pasadena in March of 1966 as Corvette number 17,157 of 27,720. Still sporting its numbers-matching original 300 HP base engine, it is lightening quick, while also being loaded with luxury factory options. These luxury options include Four Season Air Conditioning, Powerglide Automatic Transmission, Vacuum Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, Telescopic Steering Wheel and the very rare Headrests. Other desirable options include AM/FM Radio (with standard Power Antenna), Tinted Glass, White Sidewall Tires and the rare "K19" A.I.R. Smog System which was required in California only for the very first time in 1966.
The exterior paint is the original factory color Mosport Green (a Silver-Green color named after Mosport Speedway in Ontario, a contraction of "Motor Sport"), while the interior is the basic classic Black with vinyl seats and headrests. The exterior paint is a 1996 repaint of the factory color which still looks vibrant today.
In addition to its excellent condition, this Corvette is equally defined by its originality. Here are some of the key original components with their corresponding date codes where applicable:
