1991 CAMARO RALLYSPORT PROTOURING HOTROD (not an iroc)
1991 Chevrolet Camaro Description
I have for sale a 1991 Camaro Rally Sport for sale. Let's start off by saying there is nothing stock on this car except the body. The fellow I bought the car from spent $30,000 on this car to make it what it is.
It's something! For a motor it has a 1995 lt-1block from a Formula firebird. The engine builder was or is an employee of Tuned Port Injection Specialist in Minnesota. naturally he used their products to stroke this motor to 383 cubic inches. It features, Ross forged pistons, lt-1 powder rods A TPIS ZZX camshaft, and throttle body, Comp Cams roller lifters and chrome moly rockers, dual valve springs, TPIS cnc'ed Air Flow Research heads and Ford racing 40lb green top injectors and Slp ceramic headers with a high flow cat. Along with that, the sub systems have been up grades like an aluminum 4 row radiator, oil, steering and trans coolers braided lines, new distributor and MSD coil and K& N filter and inlet pipe. and there's more.
The trans is a t56 with a stage 3 clutch and a Pro 5.0 shifter. "It has 6 gears and uses them all".An aluminum drive shaft hooks up to a 2002 SS Camaro rear end with an aluminum cover with girdle. The front suspension includes boxed a-arms, Eibach Pro kit springs. The hubs have been up graded to fourth gen pieces with Corvette calipers and Raybestos Super Stop pads and drilled and slotted rotors. The rear has the Factory 4th gen Camaro PBR calipers with the Same Raybestos pads son drilled and slotted rotors. Right now it's sporting the 3.23 gears. the rear suspension has Eibach springs with Lakewood trailing arms and torque arms with Spohn sway bars front and rear. All bushings are polyurethane. Zr1 wheels round out the riding stock. There is a Flowmaster cat back system with extra resonators to keep it quiet. The battery has been moved to the back to enhance traction and provide more room for the Lt-1 computer.
The body features a steel Gm licensed cowl hood and T-tops. Very nice paint with the usual chips and scratches a 15 year old paint would have. Just got it buffed, looks great.
All in all the car runs great stops excellent and is an outstanding performance car. There are some things that could be improved however but they are minor and not necessary. Maybe a dyno tune to get all the potential out of the car. Some sticky tires would be nice. I think I would replace the carpet.
and the past owner said he would like to hear it with the resonators removed, He believes that freeing up the exhaust would improve it's incredible acceleration not to mention the sound. I kind of like it how it is. One other thing, 373 gears would make it even quicker. Not needed but just saying. There is about 15,000 miles on this build.
JUST TOOK IT TO DYNO DAYS AND IT DID 369HP TO THE REAR WHEELS. That's close to 500 at the crank and there's a lot left on the table with a custom burnt chip and the exhaust opened up it should crack 400 at the rear wheels!
Why am I not keeping it? I have an Iroc I built after I saw this car 5 years ago. It's not as fast but I did that one and that makes it a little special. I don't need 2 cars that are so similar. I forgot to mention there isn't a lick of rust on this car
