1973 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Cheyenne Description

I am offering up for sale my beautiful 1973 Chevy Short Bed Stepside 4x4. These trucks are getting very hard to find and going up and up in value.

You can hear the truck run and take a tour via this Link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbAR_4GKIio

I have owned this truck for going on 3 years. I will be very sad when it leaves my driveway on the way to your driveway, but I do not have time to drive her that much (I have only put on about 1000 miles in the time I have owned her) and want to sell to someone who will enjoy this mean machine as much as I have.

As far as I know the truck has been a California resident its whole life except for a short (less than 1 year) move to upstate New York where it was garaged at all times. As far as I know there is zero rust (and never has been any) and no dents.

The entire truck was rebuilt about 5 or so years ago as I understand it with a 1970 402 Chevy Big Block motor (with a mild cam), an Edelbrock manifold and Holley carb, headers, a heavy duty aluminum radiator and heavy duty battery, a 6 inch lift, 38 inch Monster Mudders, 2 gas tanks, sliding rear window, all new (at time of rebuild) driveline joints, and the list goes on. All who have seen the truck remark upon how well put together it is.

The truck was painted 5 or so years ago and it still looks very shiny and nice. There is one very small run located on the narrow panel between thefront bumper and the lower front end of the bodywhich youreally have to be looking to find.

Hugger Orange is a very highly regarded color for vintage collector cars. In fact an article published in 2013by well known collector car specialists Haggerty Insurance noted Hugger Orange to be one of the very top vintage collector car colors. With the gloss black roll bar and gloss black (with chrome divider strips) wood bed, the truck looks stunning!

The odometer reads 69,xxx miles but it is my guess it has been around the clock once.

I have added a super heavy duty vintage roll bar (powder coated to perfection) light (California legal) window tintingand a Kenwoodstereo with cd, Bluetooth, amp and bass box system that cost nearly $2k. You can connect it with your phone and talk via a tinymicrophone located up by the rear view mirror.

Some states (including California) have laws regulating how high you can lift a vehicle. I have never been pulled over in this truck but note that it is the buyer's responsibility to determine (before buying the truck) that the truck meets all legal requirements where you live.

I have never had this beautiful truck off road (and judging from the nearly impeccable under carriage I am guessing it has never seen much if any wheeling) but ifthat is what you are into I am sure this truck will rock and roll off road with the best of them.

As far as I know everything on this truck works as it should and I am not aware of any leaks or oil consumption issues.

I want to be as clear as I possibly can be about the condition of the truck, and note the following as theONLY things I am aware of to disclose: you have to firmly shut the drivers door to get it to close tightly; there are various very small rock chips etc. on the paint if you look very closely; the emergency brake pedal has a tight clearance with one of the stereo speaker covers and you sometimes have to nudge it over with your foot to get it to clear the speaker cover; if you pull the turn signal lever towards you the horn activates- it may have been modified to do this; that's all I can think of. This truck really is super nice inside and out.

Theonly mechanical issues I have had in 3 yearsare 1) the turn signals would sometimes not flash- I changed the flasher and this has not been an issue since- and 2) 3 or 4 times over the 3 years I have owned it the truck has sputtered out on me (like its out of gas) but then started right back up.

I want to do my best to sell the truck in a condition that the new owner will be very happy with, so in preparation of selling her I took the truck in this monthfor a complete mechanic check up. My mechanic went over the whole truck and tells me he finds no problems at all, that the truck runs very cool, etc. etc. I pushed him to try to fix the (rare) sputtering issue and all he could come up with was changing the ignition module and distributor and cleaning and pressure testing the fuel delivery systems (I had him do these things-total bill $700.) If there is any further issues with fuel system (which my mechanic tells me there should not be) the worst that you would have to do is replace the carb. A new Holley can be purchased for under $400.

To be clear, the truck runs great (very strong motor, smooth shifting transmission, brakes seem to be working as they should, etc.) and, again,I am told there are no issues at all.

I am providing the above info as I want be as inclusive as I can in providing all the details that I would want to know as a potential buyer.

This truck garners loads of attention on the street and at car shows. In my opinion it has theperfect blend of flashy but still very much 1970s classic beauty. As a 43 year old vintage truck however, I am selling her as is with no warranty of any sort.

If you want to come inspect the truck in person I am fine with that as long as we can arrange a time that works for us both. If you want the truck shipped I will hold it for a reasonable amount of time (like a month) and will work with you and your shipper to arrange pick up at my house, with all shipping arrangements to be made by and paid forby the buyer.

Payment of $500. is due by Paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction, and the balance must be paid to me within 5 days of the end of auction via a bank check from an established US bank.

This truck truly is beautiful and lots of fun. If you like it you better BUY IT NOW before someone beats you to it!

Thanks for looking at my listing and please send me any questions you may have.
