When the '63 model was introduced, t was a completely new concept for Corvette and over the years featured many items meant to make the car go (fuel injected small block, ulti-carb'd big block for example), andle (4-wheel independent suspension) and stop (4-wheel disc brakes) like a world class sports car! But, p until the time of the mid-years being introduced, here was very little in the way of making the car more user friendly and comfortable enough to want to spend long amounts of time in. That all changed when for the first time in a Corvette you could order, ower steering, ower brakes, elescoping steering wheel and am/fm radio to make your trip that much more of a blast! And speaking of blast! We can't forget one of the most important additions to the Corvette's options list! Factory air conditioning!! Yes, or the first time, ith the A-C on full and the tunes on "11" you could cruise the highways and by-ways of America in total comfort, s well as style! But old habits die hard and the novelty of having a-c in your Corvette stayed just that in the '63-'67's. Thus, n hindsight it was and is a rare, ut very desirable option to have . . .
Which leads us to this beautiful and rare '66. Not only does it have all of the aforementioned options, t's also a big block 427/390hp to boot!! It features a matching #'s 427 engine with rare factory A-C, /w, eak/telescoping steering column, m/fm radio and more. The car was restored over a period of a few years having been completed in '07 by an N.C.R.S. Judge. The drive train is #'s matching; engine rebuild was done in Arizona & trans & rear end rebuild in Sacramento. The car is very correct and is an original factory A-C car. It was judged N.C.R.S. Top Flight in May of '07.
