UPGRADES
What I’ve done to the car over the last 20 years:
· a new white top, new top hydraulics
· upgraded the interior (was red, now pearl white, correct for the year)
· put in correct SS gauges and dash (1970 GM, not reproduction)
· All electric windows. Replaced cranks with correct original regulators and switches. Plus upgraded with custom hidden “all windows down button” for when you drop/raise the top.
· new Edilbrock performer series 750 carburetor and intake (still have the original carb & intake)
· new wiring harnesses throughout the car (originals had 40 years of re-wiring, a mess)
· new mufflers
· new springs & shocks
· “new” original style cassette radio, did not put in the speakers, no cuts in the dash or doors
· New battery (last month)
· new 15” corvette style rally wheels & tires (still have the original Chevelle 14” rallies, 3 ok, 1 rusted)
KNOWN ITEMS TO BE FIXED
· I am selling this car because a few years ago it started running rough, my mechanic found it had low compression in one cylinder. The engine is a big block from 1970/1971 but is not numbers matching. I have enjoyed my time with this car. It is time for me to move on to another project.
· The next owner can decide whether they want to fix the engine (yes, it runs) or sell it and buy one that's newer, more powerful, & fuel injected. It’s up to you.
· Recent mechanic inspection and road test found:
o Gas gauge – sensors in tank needs repair (I always just filled it when I went out)
o Windshield wipers are not working: this is recent, could be a bad connection
o Flapper hood operational but not connected
o Heater/AC system should be charged
o 7yr. old tires, no wear but tires should be replaced after 5 yrs (good excuse to buy the wheels you like)
· The paint job: the clear coat is worn, wax her and from 10 feet away she is beautiful. As you get close you see a little chip from a gravel strike on the hood, a small ding in the passenger's door, and imperfections/wear on the paint from age on each panel. The only rust I know about is a spot or 2 smaller than a dime on the rear passenger’s corner of the car. It has not changed since I bought it. The pictures show all of this. I can send more.
· Mileage: the engine has been replaced, the gauges are replacements, this is not an original mileage car. I have driven it less than 100 miles in 20 years. The title lists it as around 138,000 miles.
· ADDITIONAL ITEMS
· Comes with box of miscellaneous new/original parts not installed (yet)
· Chevelle service/restoration library: books, service manuals, & diagrams.
· Convertible top boot (cover for the top when it's down)
· Custom car storage cover
· I have receipts, even documentation and photos from the previous owner’s insurance appraisal declaring it was insured as an LS5.
·
This car is a classic, more popular now than when I bought it. 1970 is the most popular year of all the Chevelles, 64’ through 72’. Convertibles are even more rare and valuable. It is in very good shape; she just needs some love from the right new owner.
