This 1957 Chevrolet Cameo Truck is nothing like you have ever seen before! There were only 2,240 Cameos produced in 1957. This 1957 Cameo has one of the most unusual paint jobs in the country. The vehicle was painted by Master painter, Rick Leos of Torrance, CA. The truck is painted in stock 9000 black with Indian Tribal graphics on the sides that changes colors when the sun or light shines on it. The majority of the work was done by car builder Terry Brizene of Specialized Street Rods in Huntington Beach, CA. This Cameo is truly a unique vehicle!
The truck was featured in Truck Builder Magazine in December of 2005. It was also selected to be a part of the Grand National Roadster Show in January of 2006 where it won Best of Show for Best Custom Truck.
The truck is powered by a 383 Stroker built by Sallee Chevrolet in Southern California. It develops 519 HP. I have all the specifications and listed components of the engine. Best of everything in this high $$ motor! Has a high volume Holley electric fuel pump with Regulator that powers Dual Edelbrock Quads. The transmission is a 700R4 with overdrive built by the Toy Shop in Pomona, CA. It has a 2200 Stall converter. It has a B&M Mega Ratched Floor Shifter by Art Carr. The rear end is a 9" Ford with 4:11 gear ratio with positraction. Axles are 32 spline with Detroit Lockers (soft Lock) by Bill Thomas Enterprises. Arch Leaf rear Suspension with custom heavy duty Firestone air bags with Remote Fill by All Pro.
Every wire in the truck has been replaced; the fuse panel has been relocated behind the rear seat for easy access. The front suspension is Volare Clip with 2" Drop Spindles with Torsion Bars.
4 Wheel Power Disc Brakes with AeroSpace Billet Rotors.
It has a Flaming River Steering Column with Tilt and Pass and Flash Feature. It also has emergency flashers.
The 2" headers from Tom Dawson Racing Headers and Exhaust and have been jet coated. Magna Flow Mufflers were also installed to help control the sound of this beautiful beast! Custom exhaust front to rear is completely jet coated. In addition, the exhaust system has 3.5" electic cut outs with an extended jet coated extension which are controlled from a switch on the dash. A vintage air conditoning unit with custom controls, cools the vehicle. It also has heat and defrost. The cooling system is based on a Mattson Aluminum Radiator that has 2 cooling fans and a custom designed air conditioning condensor.
The BMW Ultra custom leather interior was done by Fiber Technology. It has Black carpeting. Also has a custom emergency brake. The truck also has power windows. Late model modified adjustable (forward & reverse) bench seat. Dakota digital dash with liquid filled mechanical gauges. Pro Comp Monster Tach. Cigarette lighter socket. Premium sound system, AM/FM/CD located under passenger side front seat with remote control, with 2 side speakers and 2 Boom Box speakers behind the seat. Includes power antenna.
Front end is a 1955 Cameo hood and fenders and also has a custom grille. The custom hood opens in reverse, work was done by No-Limit Engineering. A custom 16 gallon gas tank has been installed under the bed with a fill through floor mechanism. The fiberglass bed of the truck with a custom tailgate has a solid oak wood floor that was left over from the 1906 San Francisco Fire which is coated with high gloss polyurethane. Custom bed cover with locking mechanism is by Gaylord painted to match, carpeted on the underside.

Truck has (2) 12volt batteries. The main battery powers the ignition system. The housing was custom built and is located under the floor of the passenger seat. The auxillary battery powers all other electrical units like the juke box, for example, and is also custom mounted under the undercarriage on the passenger side. Both batteries are charged automatically by an Isolator and a CTek charger that automatically keeps both batteries fully charged.
A custom carpet of the photo of the truck was made to fit the entire bed. A great conversation piece!
Truck comes with a Chrome table top size Juke Box that plays CD''s and FM radio.
