1971 Chevrolet Nova SS Description

Wearing an ultra sharp exterior and propelled by an enhanced powerplant, this 1971 Chevrolet Nova SS is an outstanding representation of the respected muscle car in its stylish early '70s form. This is a classic that could get by on sheer curb appeal alone, but it's appealing aesthetics team with an overall driving experience that's pretty hard to beat. The attention to detail shown by this restoration is obvious from all angles and a turn of the key, followed by... a tap on the gas pedal, will bring forth a stout beefy note to let you know that this car is as street-ready as they come. This '70 wears Gunmetal Gray metallic paint that's eye-catching yet understated at the same time. A closer look will reveal some definite signs to hint that this is no ordinary Nova - the precisely fitted cowl hood and Corvette rally wheels being a couple of them - yet its overall presentation is so well put together it makes this '71 seem like a limited edition version of the model that's been configured by factory hands. The paint makes quite an impression - it's a color you don't see all that often these days and it's got a smooth even texture, combined with a magnetic shine. The earmarks of a carefully planned and executed restoration are very much in evidence here - the body lines from front to back are tight and even, the cabin is surrounded by clean glass and both the chrome trim and protective rubber seals, as well as the bumpers both fore and aft, are in top shape. The black vinyl interior has been refurbished while retaining its original configuration, and it provides an outstanding driving environment for this venerable Chevy. The covers on both the front and rear rows of bench seating are really sharp - they don't show much evidence of wear and judging from their well-padded appearance, were likely installed not all that long ago. Climb inside and you'll find fresh-looking black carpet below you and a nice, snugly fitted headliner directly above. In front of the stock Chevy steering wheel, the clear and readable factory gauges inside the instrument cluster are joined by a Super Tach II tachometer mounted on the steering column to keep tabs on RPMs, as well as a trio of aftermarket displays on board just below the AM/FM stereo whose auxiliary port will broaden your audio options. With no liner on its floor, the trunk area is fully exposed and you can see it looks solid. Sitting front and center in the engine compartment is a 350 cubic inch crate engine that features a 4-barrel double pump carb underneath an open element air cleaner and a pair of Edelbrock aluminum heads to maximize its output. It's nicely dressed with a number of chrome components and exhales into a pair of long tube headers leading out to a dual exhaust - a combination that not only keeps backpressure at optimum levels, but also produces a resonant, beefy note you'll never get tired of hearing. The powerplant teams with a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly and the clutch action on this vintage Chevy is as seamless as it comes. Power brakes that feature discs up front provide low-effort, fade resistant stopping power as this well-configured muscle car rolls on its set of 15" Corvette rally-style wheels that are wrapped with BF Goodrich T/A radials. Below, the undercarriage is very solid and well-positioned for plenty more miles of inspired driving. This 1971 Chevrolet Nova SS offers the opportunity to put a coveted, precisely configured classic that's running at its best in your garage. Call today!
