1948 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Description

1948 Chevrolet Pickup

There's just something about old school pickups that's universally appealing. To us, they're clean, straightforward work vehicles which have morphed into wildly popular classics. And it seems many enthusiasts agree, as trucks like this modified Chevy are some of our hottest sellers...because they are trucks!

Mixing a custom paint job with some chopped, shaved body parts, a fully custom interior, and a totally mind blowing (and it is actually blown!) engine, add some front bagging to make it menacingly low, flick on a couple of neon tubes, and you will be in truck cruising heaven. I smell a 1 truck parade on Main Street when you are going for groceries.

Exterior
VW stock green with darker ghost flames that lick rearward to the hood scoop, and on the tubbed fenders, drape this awesome truck. A shaved hood sits above a painted-over front grille, which remains correct for this year truck. With the help of some bagging, the front of this truck is able to nearly touch the ground, while maintaining its suspension so it will not scrape the ground. Front bezels have been removed from the headlights, and mini turn signal lights replace the originals. A 5-1/2" chop to the cab roof adds to the rodded look, and shaved suicide doors complete the cab. As we feast our eye rearward, noted is a custom-built bed and aluminum diamond plate bed liner, which has a hinged section near the cab for storage. A tasteful running board stretches from front fender to rear fender, and at the rear are sequential turn signal lights, which double as brake lights. Dual chrome tips allow the world to hear the Chevrolet small block's heartbeat. Appropriate width American Racing Wheels bolt to all 4 corners. Lastly, I'd be remiss if I did not do a shout out to the green neon which bleeds from the underside of this truck, adding even more awesome to this awesome truck.

Interior
Swing the shaved doors back and revealed is a custom interior peppered with bolts of leather and suede inserts, a suede headliner, and that same mixture on the door panels. Proudly fronting these ultra-suede and comfortable power buckets is a custom dash from a 56 Dodge that has been totally restored. A tilt steering column, and a shiny billet style small steering wheel are awaiting your eager hands to crank it up. Even a custom console with a built in stereo, and green metal centers the cabin. A long shift column, with a carved vulture perched atop sits proudly within arm's reach.

Drivetrain
The small block Chevrolet blown mill is covered with goodies including chromed oil pan, timing cover and valve covers. Performance enhancements have been bolted on, in the form of a polished 671 supercharger, (2) 4-barrel carburetor plates, a 3" belted drive pulley, GM 194-150 heads with stainless valve covers. Inside the mill Comp cams, and hydraulic blower cam lifters, forged 7.5:1 compression blower pistons, and GM 5.7 rods with ARP belts, and double keyed iron crankshaft.

Undercarriage
From the rear of the cab forward we have a S-15 GMC frame, and for the rear of the cab it finishes off with a custom frame. A 4-link suspension and a 9" Ford posi rear with a 3.73 ratio adorns the back and throws power to the rear wheels. Drum brakes in back and disc brakes in front are noted, as is virtually no rust, or surface rust on this very nice resto-mod truck.

Popularity, power, pumped up...or down via the bagging, this custom-built truck is really a head turner. Why not own a real truck that you can even use to attract attention instead of some garage king (it's a truck it would be a sin to be a garage queen) to roll around town in. You would quickly be the talk of the town, and the fastest guy in town.
