1967 Chevelle Fresh 468 big block, manual valve body TH400, 4.68 12 bolt Posi
1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Description
Up for sale is my 1967 Chevy Chevelle. This car has not had the body, paint or interior touched in 30 years and a lot of the parts on it are very old school giving it a cool retro drag car look that is not replicated these days. The car itself is in good complete unrestored condition making it an easy restoration for someone wanting to take it to the next level. The car was originally Gold and has had one repaint many years ago, the car appears to have all its original sheet metal.
The drivetrain is fully built, the motor was just rebuilt with only break in miles on it. I purchased this car as a non running project with the motor in pieces. The rest of the car was just as it is now with the built trans and rear end already in it. The car is NOT an original SS as reflected in the price however, the car was done many years ago and they used all original parts, the hood, emblems and trim are all factory parts and not repo ones, your not missing out by not having a 138 vin car, this car has all the same stuff, plus the drivetrain would leave a stock SS 396 in the dust . below is a list of the work done to the engine along with the rest of the aftermarket parts on the car...
ENGINE
- FRESH 468 BIG BLOCK... balanced and blueprinted. Bored .060 over, line honed, block is O-ringed
- Forged, nitrated, cross drilled, polished 2 pc. rear main crankshaft turned .010/.010
- Forged 10:1 compression pistons
- Fully rebuilt 781 cylinder heads with larger valves, hot side has mild port work,
- Comp cams roller rockers and dual valve springs,
- ARP head and connecting rod hardware
- Comp 292 custom camshaft
- Hooker competition headers, 2 inch pipes, ceramic coated
- Vintage Holley strip dominator high rise single plane intake
- Tuned Holley 750 double pumper, freshly rebuilt
- Mallory Unilite distributor and coil, MSD wires
- Holley blue electric fuel pump( brand new), high torque starter, 3in. full exhaust with X pipe and Magnaflow mufflers, Moroso solid motor mounts, Moroso L88 water pump, trunk mount battery kit, new battery, alternator etc..... everything was replaced, every nut and bolt has been detailed, too much to list. I have pics and receipts for everything that was just done to the engine
TRANS
- TH400 trans built by B&M, full manual valve body, 2500 stall converter, trans cooler, B&M shifter
REAR END
- 12 bolt posi rear end with 4.68 gears, finned aluminum diff cover, extended wheel studs front and rear, balanced driveshaft
long story short, its loud and fast.
It is sitting on a vintage set of Centerline auto drag wheels with super skinny 3.5 inch fronts and wide rears on drag radials, the tires are old and should be replaced though. the car has front disc brakes, steering and brakes are manual. The car has a CLEAN CALIFORNIA TITLE, car is non op currently.
WHAT NEEDS ADRESSED
- The car has rust around the front windshield and on the inside passenger A pillar that will need to be cut out and repaired if/when it gets painted,
there is some rust on the roof and trunk lid. The car is straight and solid for being so original, I would consider it good for being 52 years old and not covered in bondo and primer by a ton of different owners because you know what you are working with.
- tach is not working
- no headliner- Brake master should be replaced, car still stops. ( will try to have it done before sale )
There is about $8,000 parts and labor in just the engine alone, the rear end is probably another $2,000, I am looking to sell it to someone that sees the value in all the work that has been done to it so far and wants a cool old school street/strip car. I am not interested in any trades, I am selling it because I am buying a house. I am assuming the person buying this understands aBuilt big block, manual valve body trans, 4.68 gears old car is not a good car to use as a daily driver or to give to your 16 year old kid. If you are a serious buyer/ bidder I will be happy to give you any info I have on the car or provide better pics if needed, I have video of the car running and pulling like a train that I will try to post a link to in the next couple days. Please ask any and all serious questions before bidding, I want the person that buys it to be happy with it and know exactly what they are getting. I highly recommend looking at any car in person before buying it. Car is listed locally and can be sold at any time.I can be reached at 714.8019848. I have been a eBay member since 2006 and my feedback speaks for itself. Immediate deposit of 500.00 due at auction end, car must be paid in full within 3 days, no exceptions. After the car is paid for I can possibly have it delivered locally or to a shipping company. Buyer is responsible for shipping
